Sanctus or Damask?
My dear husband is getting me a deck of cards for my 45th birthday and I know I want one of Lotrek's beauties. Golden Oath's are out of my price range, but I also was immediately drawn to the Damask deck. I have not seen too much out there on the Sanctus deck, but I love what I have seen.
Which do you think I should put on my 'wish list?'
If you think I am crazy and should get a different deck I am all ears... or eyes in this case.

Re: Sanctus or Damask?
I think you should get a Silk deck. I do own a Sanctus deck and I really like it and I'll receive a Red Damask on December. But I would get a Blue Silk deck if I didn't have one yet.

Re: Sanctus or Damask?
I love them both, but my preference is Damask. 4 foils in glittery goodness.
Nice gift. My wife just turned 45 a few days ago...I am unfortunately many several years ahead of her.

Re: Sanctus or Damask?
I'd personally go with the Damask; the tuck box is so delicious I could eat it.
Also, I've messaged you regarding the Golden Oath.

Arabesque or (red) Silk would be my top 2 go to decks from Lotrék. If you‘ll only let me pick between Sanctus and Damask, I would pick up Damask.

Re: Sanctus or Damask?
I have Sanctus and the Silks. I love them both but if I had to chose I would go with the Silks. Damask's are on the list for next year. This year has been expensive

Re: Sanctus or Damask?
I would absolutely choose Sanctus, they were one of my top favourites until Arabesque came along. I'm not a big fan of Damask, I would absolutely recommend one of the Silk decks instead, their prices are still very reasonable right now and it's the closest you can get to an Arabesque, including gorgeous custom artwork unlike the standard-type on the Damask. So Silk all the way.

I vote for Red Silk, but, you can't go wrong with Blue.Räpylätassu wrote:I think you should get a Silk deck. I do own a Sanctus deck and I really like it and I'll receive a Red Damask on December. But I would get a Blue Silk deck if I didn't have one yet.
Sanctus > Damask IMO.

Re: Sanctus or Damask?
Since Smocito has put the link to all the video of the decks, you should be able to make an informed decision on which one you like best, fits the price range and easiest to get.
Dentyne has Sanctus and Blue Silk for sale at the same price. He's great to deal with if you choose to get the decks from him. There should be others selling Lotrek decks on the same section as well.
A brief summary IMHO of the 5 decks in order of production. As it is with Lotrek decks, you must see and touch it yourself to fully appreciate them. Most of them are industry firsts.
Sanctus is special in that it's the first deck ever with edge to edge foil and with semi custom courts.
Golden Oath: First deck ever with just foils and no ink.
Arabesque : A shiny, glittery, shimmering foiled work of art full of intricate detail from tuck to cards with custom courts, Also 1st ever 2 foils on both sides of a card with such tiny fine details.
Damask: 5 foils with lots on intricate details. This deck is the 1st ever with 5 foils on 1 card.
Silk : Single foil with custom courts and best handling of all Lotrek Oath decks. Lotrek also manages to create gradients/depth with just 1 foil.

Re: Sanctus or Damask?
My two cents on this. In my personal universe (and I have all five decks in my collection), the ranking would be as follows:
Arabesque > Golden Oath > Silk > Sanctus > Damask
Arabesque (both Gold and Silver) are in the top two (alongside with Lorenzo’s HotRS) of my favourite decks - they are absolutely exquisite.

Thank you everyone for your input! I had seen the videos before, but I wanted to get the take from other folks with ‘hands on’ experience! Ultimately, I got the Damask Red, which is just so beautiful! For some reason, the silks didn’t seem as special, though I’m sure they are amazing.

On a more serious note. Nice to see you’re able to enjoy a new Lotrék deck in your collection.

I know I MUST be missing something with the silk deck. I'll have to get my hands on one eventually

Silk really is the ultimate single hot foil stamped deck....until Lotrek improves it again. It seems sometimes that Lotrek’s competition is himself.

Re: Sanctus or Damask?
Yeah, I have to sell some of my high-end stuff for quick cash, and I'm not letting go of Silk (famous last words). It's his #1 work IMO.
I love Venexiana Gold. The overall design and metallic inks are phenomenal, BUT, it's expendable to me. I'll miss 'em, but Lotrek does have better decks. Golden Oath - the best standard-looking deck from a visual aesthetic. Expendable, though, because Lotrek has better offerings.
To me, Silk is #1, and if I'm going to keep only 1 work of his Silk is it.

Re: Sanctus or Damask?
Hy husband was taking a look at the damask deck and casually said, "wow, I guess you have found the deck you will use when you are playing with the devil to keep your soul..."

Re: Sanctus or Damask?

Replace "Sister" with "Husband" and check box.
I'd inform your husband. "Yes, I will be using that deck to play with the devil, but it won't be for MY soul!"
