Some Dunes:

Also picked up a brick of tax-stamped Bees (some from NYCC and some from Consolidated-Dougherty/USPCC)
How does the image sizing work here?

A variety of new goodies:

I'll have to crack these open once they acclimate to the environment. The heat was particularly brutal when they were delivered.

The Jackson Robinson decks were a gift from my previous team at work.

All have been shown, but Malam, Hive & LUXX gilt decks showed up yesterday.

The Hive 2 especially Limited Edition turned out very nice!

Or what? You'll release the dogs, or the bees? Or the dogs with bees in their mouths and when they bark, they shoot bees at you? Well, go ahead! Do your worst!

Took advantage of the Vanda $5 a deck sale the other weekend. Here is something that puzzles me: The Polaris Eclispse is hand numbered 2165 of 5000. The Polaris Solar is just one unnumbered deck out of 2500. So which one is more rare, valuable, limited, or whatever metric you want to use?

Additionally, a deck from my favorite sci-fi TV show that nobody seemed to watch yet ran for ten years- Stargate SG1. It's photos slapped on poor quality cards but it brings back fond memories.

Forget White Whale, a full deck of those are the Holy Grail and the Ark of the Covenant right there. I think you should try to burn them to make sure they're real. ;)

Excluding Vellichor, all recent KickStarter and related projects, here's a few recent additions. 4 semi-white whales in there too (hint - it's NOT Peppa Pig or Beers)

Received these this week, 2 Tally Ho's signed and its my lucky number 4/700, lucky 7/700 (007 James Bond deck lol) and 28/750. I think those are some pretty sweet numbers. Kings Wild sold 25 signed decks, wouldn't you think these would be more rare then the decks limited to 200, im just saying, love the decks.

Being on a fixed income, I don't have too many days where I gain a bunch of decks in one day, but today just felt like a great day that I wanted to share with people that will understand how I felt...

Between several searches at Target stores, a package from Bicycle, and a package from Gambler's Fulfillment, these are what I gained today... My wife would have killed me if my Brick of Red, Green and Blue Impression decks had arrived at the same time!

You mean how they show up as clearly blue in your photo? :? Sorry, they are far closer to black than blue. I could maybe buy the argument that they are very dark navy blue with cellophane removed and in pure sunlight, but they are NOTHING like what they were planned to be. http://unitedcardists.com/viewtopic.php ... 024#p90024

They are a super duper dark blue as opposed to a rich deep blue that I was expecting. I would have preferred them to not be as dark.

Nice haul, Will. I'm still checking Targets ...

  We should have a poll on whether people think the Bicycle Spirit deck is black or navy. I vote for navy.

Also I haven't opened my gilded decks yet, I guess I'm until they get settled.

Do we determine which they are (Blue or Black) based on the color of the card back, or of the tuck?

I was talking about the tuck. It's dark navy blue but very nearly black.

I think that the named color should reflect the card back rather than the tuck.

Regardless f that, what does the USPCC Call the color, in adverts/catalogs? I would think that THAT, whatever it is, is how it should be referred to both here and in the database.

I think the point is that whether they call them "Dark Navy" or whatever, they are nowhere near the blue they were supposed to be.

You are correct. They are closer to Black than the Light Blue shown on Kickstarter.

And it should make you laugh, that when I first took them out of the shipping box they came in, I had forgotten how Light Blue they had been on Kickstarter, so I said to my wife, "Hey Honey, come and see the White & Gold and Black & Silver Spirit decks that just arrived!" And then when I went to their Kickstarter page and saw the Light Blue color, I looked at the decks again under better lighting conditions, and realized they were indeed Dark Blue decks.

Having been working on my own decks for quite some time, and having had to change many of my colors to CMYK compatible colors instead of on-screen RGB colors, I just let this go as the difference between what you see on-screen, versus what you get in printing; and I still think that they look fantastic!

The decks do break one rule for me though that can spoil many card tricks... And that is having a back border that is a different color than the face borders; which makes it very hard to hide turned-over cards.

I had a very nice array of packages arrive this week. The box that the Army decks are in has a very interesting scent to it. It smells fresh! :ugthink: The Spirit box is also nice as well and I especially like the white tuck (it feels similar to the Medallions).
