Much as I like skeleton decks. I'm finding this one exceedingly overwhelming.

- blank banners at the head of the courts.
- banners on the suit indicators
- the number cards are severely nonfunctional. I'd suggest leaving the number and suit indicator on the same side of the card. Cards aren't dominos, you hold them in one hand and fan them to see their suit and rank. Not end to end.
- Needs more contrast between background and pips. Black over brown/black over read equals poor reading of the cards.
- I find the courts interesting but the tribal tattoos and swirls and what not are fighting the courts for attention. One of them needs to be tamed. I'd suggest the background.

Thanks for the welcome badpete69 Eoghann....Are you suggesting something like this ? I had lotsssss of comments about my cards on facebook...never had anything negative...but yes I know they are a bit charged...I am willing to do any kind of changes that needs to be adressed....for the number cards..yes there is a number in the middle but also on the corners so you can fan them ..I am not sure I understood correctly this one....so here I post what I think you asked for...let me know and thanks for the proffesional critics ;-) I appreciate anything regarding my designs...Ill do the change if a majority people ask for it.

Well, when you hold cards in your hand really the only functional area is the corner. Indicates both suit and rank. You only have numbers there. No way of knowing what the card is without leaving it wide open to check the top banner or pulling it out of your hand to check.

I was suggesting moving the suit indicator under the number.

I think you can do without the banners completely. Hearts, spades, clubs and diamonds and the courts that belong to them are globally recognized. No need to label stuff.

I am not a skeleton guy, but previous comments accurate. Background is an issue, banners are distracting, suit indicator location, skull color/texture different than mustache & clothes, etc. I hope you consider suggestions here, well intended. Good luck.

Mostly though, you should change the hands. All I can see is jazz hands. ;)

Just to make sure I understand what I might be pledging for here:

No official printer listed on the Kickstarter page.

No fulfillment information.

$17.00 for a single deck.

Can I get some official clarifications here?

 chach

I just noticed this is $17 withOUT shipping for MPC cards? Even after CAD to USD conversion that is $14 and $19 shipped to the US. That is WAY TOO MUCH for a deck from MPC, or any deck that doesn't have a ton of extra tuck features. I would recommend making whatever changes you can for this round and re-evaluate your cost models for a future relaunch as this very likely will not fund on cost alone. Perhaps I'm wrong and there is super high demand for skeleton decks, but it will be a challenge for you. Good luck.

Will - there is a reference to MPC on the comments page, but yeah if that is the plan it should be directly on the main project page.

For now Its printed by MPC on 310 linen finish.
Yeas its 17$ ..expensive you say ,maybe But when I asked for the quotes and received the prices, I could not figure out How it was possible to sell a deck of cards at 14$ shiping include.
I have to pay 8% of kickstarter fee...15% of taxes on the selling amount ( yeah here in canada ) I have to pay to make the cards ship here another 3% of credit card fees....and well when you make the count you just realize that even at 17$ theres not much left.
I'm still waiting for qoute from other company, but all of them asked for at least 1000 decks.
Time for creatiing arts is verrrrrry long...took me weeks to get there...for me, art has no real price range....you love it than you take it even if its 20$ more as long as you dont feel like your being stolen... you have to feel that you like the deck and want it. I totally accept the fact that its a bit more expensive and that some people don't like it for this or that .
But when I take my calculator and realise how much it cost...how much time I put into that project....beleive me..I could sell 50,000$ worth of cards and still not make that much money.
I want to be fair with people....If I sell more decks I will be able to put a reduction to them.....but for now the price is what it is and at my opinion it's worth a try...but for people making collections and have very high standarts I can't do anything but do my best to make sure everything looks nice. Ill do whatever I can to make all of this a fair deal.
And really I appreciate all advices and critics and such...its a must for a 1st project and I feel that I am in good hands with pros like you.
Ill make some update as time goes by.

thanks to you all for everything.

How many decks are you trying to print? The more you print, the less each deck will cost. It's hard to get clectors to pay 17 for one deck shipped domestically. I think $11-12 is still about standard shipped.

If & when you get there, remind me to get you 10% off their cost. I can do prototype decks (dozen) for 20% off, comes in right at $250 shipped air freight anywhere in the world.

Now, trying my best to be polite, I think what most people are saying is that they are just much too busy, and color is a good thing until it gets to looking like a carnival.

I tossed you into the Deck Artist group, enjoy your stay at UC!

well some people like it and some not....its the way it is I guess...now its published...Ill remember all the advice but some people are still buying it so I guess its a 50/50 kind of thing lolll If I have to do another one I think I would go more classic....colors and business included. I am here to learn...from pros and collectors...but I am not a card artist..it's my frst try. I received ton of e-mails saying its incredible, so I am aware of the fact that tastes are tastes...pros are pros...loll next time I will try to goo for the in betwwen kind of stuff! loll making people happy is like ...weel trying to have a good time with the wife...it's all about compromise.
lowered my shipping costs..and learning from you guys as who is the best printers..where and when to do what and in what kind of way.
I am trying to live with my talent but for some its just not impressive or satyisfying..and as an artist we are use to that every single day. I hope that I can reach my goal anyways...but if not ..then that would have been a good lesson to learn.....I was trying to do my best in something I don't realy master for now.
Keep up with all the advices ...tricks..comments and also...deals..where I can find what I need, and what I have to do to make even the toughest collectors happy.

Hope I can learn even more from you guys...really appreciated ,

Nice community , constructive critics..a place to hang when talking cards.

Thanks a bunch

Nice to see you are so involved and open to suggestions. Sometimes I notice creators get a bit irate taking suggestions as attacks. I'm not into skeleton decks at all but something about this one interests me. For a long time it seemed there was a barrage of skeleton decks. Maybe I've got over my disinterest, either way, good luck with your project.

Wow Walrus..it touches me right to the heart to see taht maybe you regret hating skeletons so much lolll Weel you can't be a good artist if you can't accept critics....when you have that kind of talents ...most of the time , the only way to get better is to be open to the vast world of creation...critics are 50% of that improvement. My talent is limited to what it is...and for me ..listening to other people helps you alot. You see flaws where I see bright colors...you see fonctionality where I see a nice bunch of arts all mixed together....the talent of the artist is in the eyes of his admirators. Critics or compliments both helps as much.

Im still open to any suggestions guys ...really ..any !

Thnaks to you all

Please Don take anything I say as artistic advice. I am NOT an artist, just summing up what I mostly read between the lines.
