Johnny Whaam. Gotta hand it to him, he's thinking up fresh themes for his decks. The jokers are kinda, dare I say a little homoerotic. It would make more sense to have a white collar joker maybe. Some guy in a suit.

Some of the blue collars are a little outdated though. Like the shoemaker, carpenter and blacksmith. Where's the assembly line worker, garbage man, warehouse forklift driver, fast food worker or janitorial staff? Guess they're not as representative of the blue collar force? Gotta romanticize it a bit.

So many decks, it will be good if you put "by collectable cards" in title so to know from where decks come.

Taking up space apparently without serving any real purpose. Maybe they're the metaphorical gears that the blue collar workforce serve as, making the world turn round?

I actually kinda like it, but the positions do seem based on the turn of the 18th - 19th century rather than modern times. Most of those positions have become specialty jobs commanding a premium rather than blue collar. Should've watched watched a few more episodes of Dirty Jobs to get ideas.

Hey

I designed this deck, as well Old Masters, Elegance, Physique, Disruption, Emotions, Creepy etc..

Just few details;
Theme is set in early 20th Century forward (to our times, jobs like electrician, mechanic) and I wanted to have basic jobs from various industry sectors, manufacturing, manual jobs. I also wanted to portray significant forgotten (outdated) jobs too. Much thought put into this...and I was sure there would be always someone not happy with my choice.
(White Collar deck is a stretch goal,...new drawing style and 12 new, contemporary office positions there)

Front pic of tuck,..car factory. We all know what effect cars had to society in 100 years.

Gears, represent motion, energy, progress, development, continuous routine manual work... Also, modern times (and I'm not the first to think of this idea "Modern Times" ?!...were modern 78 years ago too :D)

Suicide Queen(?),.. if you mean..QH, those hedge shears are trimming the hedge pointing towards us, not herself (couldn't draw the hedge, wanted to have workers and tools)

There's many artists working with Collectable. Hope you'll take a look at my designs and hopefully agree the level of my work is well above average artists (so far I had most success on Kickstarter with Old Masters and Elegance and I kinda hope Blue Collar and White Collar can be well appreciated too by collectors)
Though, I don't measure success (and quality work) with numbers it's always nice to see numbers going up :)

Thanks for pledges, comments (keep em coming), I always read your comments even if I'm not that active on forums. My passion for creating eats most of my time but I always find time to appreciate constructive critique..

I hope most of you will like these decks though, cause there's much time and effort put into this (everybody says that but here..it's true and it shows, doesn't it ? :))

It has the Golden Spike vibe to it. I think Bicycle Industrial Age would've been a great title because that's what it was called back in the earl to mid 1900s. Very, very different from the usual CPC puts out, good comeback after that awful Dead Of The Dead deck attempt.
"When I like something, I buy. No matter who did it, how many were printed or how many (re)colors exist.

When I don't like something, I pass. No matter who did it, how many were printed or how many (re)colors exist."

Whaam - Nice deck. Like the jokers. Got a black and a red one. Like the tax stamp suit indicator. Like the smooth transitions from one side of the card to the other. Have the admit the QoH does seem a bit odd with the sheers position. Your back could have had a couple of rollers and made to look like an assembly line. Just a thought. Your tuck box looks like it has more than 56 cards in it. It's a bit fat. So Whaam, can you tell us the secret workings of Collectable. What is their long time strategy? What are their numbers? What is your percentage? Why did you decide to go with them?

It failed to fund, so they lowered the goal. They must have some deep pockets, if they keep doing this, deck after deck
will kidnap and torture your boss for a dollar...

Yep, can't bitch about the new jokers. They work also. I hope they do have deep pockets...

If anybody was on the fence on this and would like a single blue collar EB I'll be dropping mine at noon Eastern time. Looks like NOBODY has picked up any single decks outside of the EBs, but since the blue collar EB is sold out I figured I would give somebody a shot at it.

I just can't justify getting this deck. If I'm honest the only thing that pulled me in was the car on the tuck, a lot of the court cards look like elves or hobbits to me. :? Mostly though the themes just aren't ones I'm really into. It has some nice elements, but not for me.

I didn't pledge for this deck, but I'm glad it's funded. It's a good deck. Like the Jokers. The theme had the clogs on the front of the courts. I thought it would be better to make them on the back of card also.
