Sharpies + Decks = Awesomeness !!!

Unread post by CBJ »

Some pics that I had posted on UC.net and Aether

I Sharpied each card one at a time and let them dry.

Here are the pics of my Shadow Master and Black Raider.

Awesome!

I used a REAL Sharpie, and not a dollar store marker, and I made sure I did each card.. one at a time. I can not emphasize that enough.

I did this just for fun a long time back. The decks still fan perfectly.

I'm VERY happy with the way they turned out :)

JBC could you put these side by side with the original. I want to see what you did. I do not have that deck.

Have you thought of how they'll look in a year or so when they fade to brownish? I'm not trying to be ants at your picnic- just seeing how long the look will last.

I individually, card by card, Sharpied a deck of Shadow Masters and a deck Black Ghosts over two years ago and they still look great. The edges haven't faded at all. The key is to hold the Sharpie still and run the card edges lightly over the felt tip.

As you can see in Jay's pictures, the blackened edges on black decks look SO much better. This is why I think if anyone produces a black deck with black card stock, they'll sell like hotcakes!

My ears were burning.

Sadly, when I read the thread I realized you were not speaking of my awesomeness :(

On topic, I've tried this and it does work wonders... perhaps that's why I chose it as my username ;)

Wicked, love the red! Someday when they can print on colored stock we won't have to worry about that, but it sure makes a difference to the overall visual feel when you color those edges.

How did you match the exact color on the red deck CBJ ? Did you just use a regular red sharpie on them ?
