If anyone wants to support a good cause, Theory11 sells more than a couple of decks that do this, and they're actually designed well at a fair price.

Animal Kingdom, Charity: Water, and (PRODUCT) Red to name just a few.

Theory11 also has integrity.

I am so bored of this thread. I feel pigs are a livestock and a frankly an invasive species to North America. They do harm to the native habitat, maybe not as much as a lot of other invasive species I can think of. I prefer to support wildlife conservation projects and native habitat conservation projects. Even projects to help bee populations as they are a major pollinator nowadays. I am certainly not trying to say his cause is misplaced, just not for me. I can think of a whole lot worse ways to spend your time and effort (like continuing this conversation. Let's talk about playing cards). I will gladly let him have the last word if he wishes and move on.

Wow that update is down right childish. If I was a backer that sort of update would make me seriously reconsider my pledge. Its this sort of drama filled pity party update that often comes with undelivered rewards and excuses down the road...

Not to mention him straight up doxxing the lady who private messaged him.

"As always, please keep your pledges coming in for the pigs!"
and yet still no word on how this project actually goes about supporting those pigs. [BACON]

I do not encourage or endorse any of your words in that update, and I urge you to keep to the anonymity and take down my name, I’ve been silent enough to let you say what you want here, but if you’ve decided to spread your own conflict with people here to a different platform like KS, I’m also not afraid to call you out and tell your backers to drop the pledge for this childishness.

Yeah... I change my mind. I was trying cut Bill some slack or at least make peace with everyone but Bill, this is your bad. ESPECIALLY since you made it seem like everything was good in your last UC post. PipChick thank you for your post on Kickstarter, really appreciate it!

I've been on the fence about keeping my pledge since the flame war started here...this just solidifies my choice. This dude is not worth my time or money, never answered how this supports the pigs, and clearly is following in DM's footsteps. Dropping this shit.

P.S. PipChick, your posts on the campaign are very well articulated. :ucstar: :ucstar: :ucstar: :ucstar: :ucstar:

I tried to be helpful in my criticism and show my support despite the design not being what I collect. After reading this update, I feel like his responses were far from genuine. I can understand him wanting to defend his work but the way this has played out, the whole thing has turned sour beyond any hope of repair. The fact Bill chose to highlight specific users on this forum is crossing a line and the fact he used a woman's (supposedly) real name and her private message to him was completely unacceptable (though I can't understand why she would send a message like that in the first place).

With all the names he has been dropping, it sounds like he doesn't need, nor does he care for, our support. I'm not sure if him publicly calling out members of this community should get him on the blacklist, but I will refrain from supporting him in the future. Even if he adds custom pig heads to the courts down the road. It breaks my heart but a line was crossed. Simple as that.

EDIT: I just saw PipChick's comments on the Wild Boar KS page. She's a goddamn gem. The best verbal bitchslap I have read in a long while and she maintained credibility and showed us all (as if we needed to be shown) how devoted she is to this community. Get this girl a beer, STAT! You rock, Amy

Yea, I've been a bit absent lately (and I truly am sorry to y'all for that - just some personal life stuff goin' on), but I def am around and always here (or I guess in this case, there lol) for the UC fam <3

Besides, that update was pretty concerning and not okay on a lot of different levels... for sure crossed some lines that I myself am just not at all comfortable in passively sitting back quietly to allow him and his words/actions go unchecked. I just honestly don't know what Bill's thinking? Things left off here on such a positive note and it seemed like he was making an honest effort to get along with everyone by just letting things go and moving on as the others here so graciously did... so why sabotage that??? for what? I just don't understand and it's a pity to see such good intentions be overshadowed by ego...

also, is this too facetious or a bad time to suggest that perhaps he may be the one that's a bit pig-headed...??

So, I see Bill has changed his .sig to include a number of quotes. I'll note that his quote attributed to Euripides is both misquoted and misattributed.

The traditional quote is, "Those whom the gods wish to destroy, they first make mad." Another popular variant is "Whom Fortune wishes to destroy, she first makes mad." This ancient quote would likely not have referenced "God," because it far predated Christianity (as did Euripides). Even so, there is no record that Euripides is the origin of this sentiment.

Check out the "misattributed" section here in wikiquote: https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Euripides

I post this because I find epigraphs fascinating, and it's interesting to see how they get used (and misused) in different contexts.

Thanks for this - I managed to find a more fitting quote there given the circumstances: “Talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish”.

All I’m going add to this is that it was disingenuous to use me as some kind of character witness considering my words preceded all of the “agitation”. I would have and currently prefer to remain out of this situation.

Unfortunately, with so much cherry-picked out of context, much of what's stated in the update is quite skewed and only provides a very misleadingly narrow and distorted half to an incomplete narrative to say the least... :? I'm quite disappointed as I honestly took Bill at his word when he stated he wanted to make amends and move forward from the altercations between him and others here and I think many graciously provided him a free and clear opportunity to do so.

Also, I can only imagine how much it must absolutely suck when people brazenly take it upon themselves to misappropriate the brand and following you've worked tirelessly to build up by aligning themselves with you for whatever petty self-serving purposes without consideration to whether or not that's even something you want to be a part of and/or how that might affect you. ugh. I'm so so sorry TGW that you've been caught up in this mess along with the rest of the UC community and I too am now feeling just slightly regretful and resentful for having promoted this project considering all the trouble that's been brought about since it's posting. Especially now as provocations are apparently still being made - and publicly across other platforms no less - to incite contention and conflict even after over a week since having to step in and intervene to ease tensions (which I honestly thought had been mitigated as expressed and seeming to be)... :? *sigh* I guess it just goes to show that no good deed goes unpunished :?

Bill, I know you've relied heavily on others' as endorsements for promoting your project, but please be mindful that your words/actions may not always align with the values of everyone.

He still thinks he's right though, look at his latest comment to one of his surpporter on KS and not a single acknowledgement to pipchick's reply.

"Thanks, Nicholas. Yes, it's really inconsequential to the success of this campaign. Haters hate and then don't want to be called out on it. I am human myself and I do make mistakes, and when that happens I own up to it."

What is with this guy?

Upon seeing that reply to Nicholas the KS backer, Bill, I have to say you're pushing me towards the hater side despite what we've discussed in private. It's becoming clearer through every step you take that you're running this campaign with fueled hate by neglecting honest feedbacks and choosing to categorize people into haters and loyal followers in which followers become a cult through hating the common hater camp as the "Other" and playing the victim. At the end of this run, the good will for the pig sanctuary is nowhere to be found, only your preference to side with only those who praise your deeds; any comments that are not in this line are dumped into the "misinterpreted" pile, thus haters.

Truly a believer and follower of Daniel Madison the cult icon. Well played.

Good luck with this funded campaign since you seem to think that a small margin over 100% is a huge success. But I'm very certain there won't be a next success, not even this one if it was with the help of the sanctuary connection serving as your saving grace.

...UC is a place of hate.
It's clear you didn't take the time to read or even comprehend Amy's reply to your campaign update. She pours her heart and soul into this community, and it's people like her that make this forum more than just a meaningless hole in the wall. This community is collaborative and insightful and weird as hell. We value quality and camaraderie. We are blunt and bashful and everything in between. You can attempt to distill this community into a place of hate but you will fail.

I think it's best you see yourself out, Bill. There's nothing more to be gained here.

There's a lot I would like to say in regard to Bill Davis' behavior but none of it is even remotely polite so I will say this: grow up and sack up. People don't like your deck? So what. People don't like you? Again I say so what. Get over it. Wasting your time writing this long winded post about your "haters" is absolutely pathetic but hey whatever you can do to distract from your trash deck I guess.

Also you mention your doubts that people would have the gall to speak of your deck so critically if they didn't have anonymity to hide behind... Well I'm happy to let you know that if given the chance I'd be more than willing to tell you to your face that I think your deck is an insignificant steaming pile of pig poop.

I have said it before and I will say it again - it is counterproductive to argue with the people who refuse to listen.

PS: the fact that he thinks that at 107 per cent. he is funded “well over” his funding goal is cute.

I grabbed my popcorn to stay nutrated while getting into another study of pathological narcisitic behavior. My journey brought me to kickstarter, since I heard some fun is going on there. So, here is a nice object of observation:

"1) UC has no case in defending someone not in UC as it has nothing to do with them. This just a manipulative ploy to take attention off of their own behavior by pointing another misguided finger away from themselves.
2) If UC members are going to talk garbage and hide behind anonymity then they're going to be called on it by their words and screen name as there's zero breech behind such anonymity.
3) I should've checked with Decknowledgy and another first, as they are more known and I was in the wrong for not going so.
4) Decknowledgy never attacked me personally and this was a misstatement that should have been stated as having attacked my deck.
There will be no more discussion of this. I've said my piece."

DISCLAIMER: I'll leave that here just for educational purpose. Never let fear be your guidance, but be aware that there are people that don't want to do good.

Bill, although many of the points I made in the comments of your project page were somewhat address in your latest update (sorta… I guess… :? I mean, only in the sense that you immediately went on the defense of your words/actions and then resorted to the lame excuse of only being human, not being perfect and making mistakes - as we all obviously are and do  - to justify not having to take accountability for your own part in how you contributed to the conflict in all of this... but whatevs... ), one question I had asked in particular - and is probably of most significance - wasn't mentioned, which is why?

Why, in the final last hours of the funding period of your campaign, did/do you find it critically necessary to reignite strife both within the community here at UC and on your own project page??? Do you really have so much vengeful animosity towards those that freely expressed unfavorable opinions about you and your deck? Sure, I think everyone here agrees that discussions shouldn’t have deteriorated as they obviously had with the name-calling and personal attacks and, as I said, it’s understandable that you would take personal offense to some extent, but are you really gunna let your hurt feelings and bruised ego cause you to hold onto so much hatred as to continue to pick fights with the community long after everyone else was already ready to let go and moved on (and actually had)? And to what ends? When is enough going to be enough for you?

Cause if you’re looking for sincere apologies from random internet strangers for things said on a completely open-access public forum where freedom of speech and privacy are staunchly protected, well, I’m sorry to inform you that that’s just not going to happen. Like, ever. And, if that's the case, I think you need to seriously re-assess and manage your expectations because, again, that's just not going to happen and most definitely not after all of this. Allow me to one last time remind you and everyone else that the discord that occured here at UC was not one-sided and you had played a role in it as well. With that said, we are not going to endlessly continue to address those past matters by continuing to childishly pointing the finger and cast blame in this ridiculous game of who-said-what any further as faults fall equally on both sides and it seems to be a moot point anyways in trying to move forward.

What I am attempting to address is your actions now and your decision, without any provocation from anyone whatsoever, to needlessly bring back up and persistently rehash altercations you personally had and willingly participated in with other members that have since long passed – especially after the opportunity to start new was extended and warmly welcomed by everyone – and to do so by bashing our entire community so publicly on another platform. This has only served to re-open old wounds, stir up even more drama (especially by involving people that were/are not involved, nor want to be) and antagonize others to breed hostility within the community ONCE AGAIN. Unfortunately, you and you alone are the cause of this and there’s really no other way of diverting blame for your deliberately malicious words/actions.

Com’on Bill, you’re better than that. The way you’re choosing to act out is beneath you and, at this point, you should now recognize that. Stop getting all caught up in your hurt feelings and stop drinking the haterade. Re-evaluate your priorities and focus on what’s really important (maybe try remembering why you even took on pursuing such a passion project to begin with, hmm?) so you can stop petulantly looking to pick fights with the UC community, only to then cast yourself as the victim even though you’re now the one causing problems with your relentless agitations. I really wanted and tried to be supportive of you and your project from the start and even later despite your role in prior squabbles as you seemed like a decent enough dude with your heart in the right place in regard to the noble cause you’re championing for, but in all honesty, you’re making it very difficult for me to remain neutral in order to mediate and ease the tensions you've raised as you’re divisively fabricating this all into a ‘us vs. them’ narrative to suit your petty, self-serving needs and I really can’t allow you be so reckless with your words and actions as it hurts all of us – not just the UC community, but the wider playing card community as a whole when you seek destruction of a place intended to foster collaboration and support of one another – members and non-members of the UC community alike and everyone else involved in the industry/market of the hobby including KS backers, designers, producers, manufacturers, promoters, resellers, etc.

So again, I ask, why? what do you hope to gain from creating all of this hostility?

And is it really personally worth it for you? (like seriously, is it really though??)

And when is enough going to finally be enough for you to eventually just let go, walk away and move on?? Will you ever even be able to let go of this? or are you content in so strongly holding this bitterness and grudge against the community forever with you for your indignations?

I'm sincerely asking as these most recent turn of events are quite concerning and disturbing... :| :?

.
.

ps. By the way, I didn’t mention in the comments on your project page the fact that we didn’t and generally don’t drag our mud through multiple social media platforms because we prefer to hide behind anonymity which allows us to freely express our uncensored thoughts/opinions, but rather because it’s out of courteous consideration for you and your project and, quite frankly, doing so is pretty classless – an action we all here at UC for damn sure would call out one of our own for participating in, as we have done in the past.

Furthermore, I advocate for the protection of one’s right to privacy, regardless of who they are or whether or not they’re one of our community because no one deserves to have their personal information spread and shared with so little regard to the dangerous consequences that it can lead to. That's also another, more substantiated rational as to why it's strongly advised against someone pledging to your project only to hate on it in the comments section and why many just simply don't and haven't. But trust me, this is a very real threat to safety and security – one that we here at UC and myself personally have had to deal with in the past – as it has very wide-scale and real-life consequential repercussions that can be irrevocable damaging.

If you think protecting anonymity is only about being able to say whatever we want without fear/risk of being exposed and called out by you and/or publicly ridiculed/shamed by others for our words, then you’re really not seeing the bigger picture nor understanding the grave seriousness of such circumstances and what it could result in when it jeopardizes one’s personal safety in the form of threats, harassment, stalking, cyber security attacks and much, much more. It’s a much greater and more serious offense than you’re misconstruing the point I made in regard to the issue and are brushing it off as in your latest update by making it seem that my concerns are only to serve the purpose of deflecting blame or manipulating public opinion of the situation which seriously could not be further from the truth and my sincere intentions in bringing awareness to the issue - I'm deeply offended that you would even suggest such absolute bs. Plus, as I mentioned (only in an effort to caution you btw), it could very well backfire and cause you to also face legal ramifications if that person decided to seek actions against you for maliciously exploitation of their info/identity online.

As for here at UC, doxxing is most certainly something we absolutely, 100% DO NOT tolerate - ever - nor soliciting such info from other members and it’s probably the fastest way for you to get the boot. Just something perhaps worth considering as you're seriously under scrutiny as to whether or not we will continue to allow you to maintain your account here with us at all. Choose your next words wisely and take your next actions with that in mind because, right now, my own patience is running thin as is a lot of the other mods' and we will not tolerate you wreaking havoc around here and elsewhere. You're toeing a very fine line, my friend, and I'm not gunna wanna continue to play nice as miss-diplomatic-mod with you if you can't extend the same civility, courtesy or respect to everyone else around here.

Amy, as always, everything you have posted has been very well said.

I don't have ANYTHING positive to contribute to this worthless person, convoluted project, or lazily-designed deck. This is my last post on the subject.

Here's your chance. Your full name, please?
So we can meet in person and I can tell you in person that I think you suck?

Thought so.
Wow you really think you got me, that's sad. I stated that I would gladly say it to your face. I did not state that I would openly post my full name. Maybe take a moment to read what PipChick said on the matter and you might begin to comprehend why someone may choose not to openly share their name. I've no problem sharing my name with people I have met on the internet in private but doing that publicly would just be stupid. Not because I'm afraid of being held accountable for what I've said but because there are vindictive people like yourself that would attempt to use this information maliciously.

"He started it, he was mean to me first. Everyone is bullying me"

Wah wah wah.

Someone remove this insignificant person from our wonderful forum. I'm over him and his lazy, cruddy deck.

You'll simply make a comeback at me. As always. Nothing has been said about this sabotager. You say it's awful in your KS comments yet no one speaks to it. I'd say it's astounding but, knowing how UC is, it's honestly of no surprise.
I just want to point out this post made hours before my own on the topic of this latest explosive series of updates:

Its worth noting that anyone backer or not can follow that link and read the update. I wasnt planning to post again but you did call me out with obviously false accusations. I have no interest in backing your project be it for sabotage or otherwise.

Since im here i suppose i'll ask one last time in vain how does this project benefit the sanctuary? when you post images like this: https://www.instagram.com/p/BvvJGNrhvEP/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; it implies that by backing the deck one is actually helping the pigs in a tangible way. But not once have you mentioned how this deck does that it appears that you are using the pigs as a way to guilt people into giving you money. Top tier emotional manipulation really.
