I dare say with all the publicity it's getting on Instagram, this deck might fund within 3-5 days...

Okay, let me say some good things: 1) USPCC Printed, 2) Standard deck (It could be worse), 3) It is not insanely expensive (could be better given everything)

That said, it hasn't got any appeal to me as a collector, but I doubt I am the creator's target audience. I am worried about it's low funding goal. That with a first time creator has me worried. I don't think a lot of new creators take into account the insane cost of shipping stuff, especially internationally.

The fact that it's £9 shipped is...well, better than being $15+ for a generic deck of cards.

I always crap all over decks like this, but I may as well ask: who is supposed to buy this? The description says "cardists and magicians". I readily admit I am neither a cardist nor a magician - although I enjoy a bit of legerdemain here and there - but I'm generally under the impression that such buyers would want something more visually striking than a plain black back with a white border, no? If not, why not just stick with USPCC's even more affordable option - plain Bikes? Same stock, looks better, and most people will accept Bikes as "real" cards and not a gaff deck.

So an 808 Rider Back that is more expensive and has worse design...

This project is utterly shit.

I like this back design.

I like this box.

I like $9 shipped to NZ (two decks).

But I don't need it :D

What is to hate? It has nice and modern clean lines.

Of course, the dark deck does remind me a bit of paska. Yeah, it does look a bit like paska.

If I had to choose between:

- Someone paying me to own these.
- Quit collecting.

Guess which one I would select?

I'm gonna send the creator a message, telling him to change the title for these to 52 Pieces of Crap.

Garbage + Unexpected Income + Continue to collect

Trash the crap, use the income to buy another deck/watch a 2000th time of Endgame, keep all the Lotrek/Jackson/S17/Thirdway....decks? Sounds like good profit in comparison to stop collecting! 8-) 8-)

There are way too many decks being created for my budget. Even if they were all awesome (they aren’t), I would have to choose only a few to purchase. The nice thing here is I get a much better shot at finding out what I really do want. I’ll let others fund the decks I can’t or don’t want.

Okay, then here we go:

This deck looks like the s**t my toodler leaves after using the potty. It hurts to see trees dying for this utter crap.
I feel sorry for everybody involved in the printing process, because for quality control reasons they have to take a close look at the uncut sheets and then at the end on the deck again. If I had to do this, I would gladly blind myself with a burning hot rusty iron before looking just one more second at this abomination!

As I've predicted, funded in 4 days :ugthink:

The taste in cardistry designs have drastically plummet, gone are the days of Cardistry Touch, Virtuoso, Exquisite Bolder, and simple Tally-Ho's... Even Tally-ho has a better design than most of the cardistry designs nowadays, and ironically, the downfall of the aesthetic taste is led by many top tier cardists and their brands.

I'm not a fan of this deck either but often silence is golden.

Everybody is free to share his thoughts and I love honesty, but to think, that ones own aesthetic taste is of high value and things/designs/tastes that contradict with that, are inferior... oh bwoi, we had times like that before.

Funny enough that touch just released a deck. And Virtuoso... I love their decks but other brands get flamed for only recolouring their signature back design.

Just 2 cents that I leave here :D

@shiroo56 Haha, I get your point! I'm never comparing my aesthetic taste with others, but in cardistry while comparing past trends with the trend now, there is quite a difference. In the past, since Kickstarter wasn't so easy to use for cardists who don't have their own brand yet, they would have to search for artistic decks that flashes when flourishing, which means that artwork by serious designers comes before the cardist's presentation.

Nowadays, with their own brands cardists realize that their fame factors into whatever they produce, fans will buy anyways. For those who don't have a brand yet, Kickstarter becomes a front similar to a semi-branding with good publicity. So as conventional marketing model goes, quantity over quality happens. Also adding to the fact that cardists with brands are dominating over the designer's opinions. Whereas designers own their artwork in the past, now it's all about the cardist's view, and the designing process is being out-sourced to match their preferences. :P

To completely hijack this thread. Below was the first photo I remember of Lorenzo's cat. This is not any ordinary cat; it is a quality control inspector. That is why Stockholm17's decks are so awesome. They are reviewed and approved by his cat, which obviously has great taste.
