I was never 100% happy with MPC, but they did always deliver in a timely manner.

A prototype deck will be in my next Pip Box Club and will be interested in feedback for who ever opens that deck.

Will - I got Kalevala prototype from Shuffled Ink. Happy with the decks. It is a great alternative to MPC and any US Creator will benefit for sure.

Shipping to international is high, of course given they print the prototypes in Florida but I will work with them again.

They do give good discount on the prices given on their website. Jackson with his new subscription service should definitely check with Shuffled Ink.

According to a comment made by JR on one of his IG posts, half of the slots (72/144) for the monthly subscription membership will open at 12AM CST and the other half of slots will open again at 12PM CST

again, this is just from a comment made on IG from JR himself and I haven't yet seen the specific time for when the slots open officially announced anywhere else so, stay tuned folks

Ah well, nice to see that he does remember his international fans by staggering it fairly so everyone gets a fair chance.

We shall wait and see. I like many of his design ideas and that is why I signed.

I think that the first decks would be interesting, otherwise JR would not have launched it. The again, I can always cancel.

He actually did. Apparently, what happened is that I managed to place the order when he was testing that section of the site (talk about right place, right time) and JR confirmed that I have indeed subscribed to the shorts.

This subscription project raises an interesting question: for those who want to back, will there (and should there) be an option to order two copies of each deck -- one to stay sealed, one to open?

With the limited number of subscriptions being so small, it seems like ordering multiples might be cruel to those who want in but can't get in. But, for collectors who really prefer to open a deck and still have a sealed deck, it seems like it would be unkind to make them pay twice for shipping.

From what I've understood, you're not really 'ordering' deck(s) but rather subscribing to a monthly membership that includes only 1 deck every month per membership - therefore, those that would want more than one deck, I imagine, would have to subscribe more than once to receive them...

But, it also states on the site, that any 'unreserved' decks will be made available for sale to non-subscribers at an increased cost; my question would be that in the hypothetical situation that there are 'unreserved' decks leftover, would those first be offered to any current subscribers that would like to buy those additional decks before allowing them to be bought by non-subscribers?? or is a strict one-per-subscription rule? just curious

I actually practice a form of cardistry that I invented, I should do YouTube tutorials for it once I work out more moves. I call it "deckistry" where I do cuts and flourishes with my unopened decks.

I was up really late last night watching my son play in HS Band for the first time (and was announced the new band player of the week ). Sometimes it is great to be a dad. Yeah, basically, I made sure I was in front of my computer no later than 10 minutes before hand and just kept clicking "refresh" until the "add-to-cart" button went green. I also do a lot of online shopping, so I have my card information memorized.

I have learned from past experiences that sending out email notification via the subscriber list does more harm than good with a limited release of this kind. It defeats the purpose if I send out an email before the product is live as people get angry that it isn't available. If I send it out after It has launched then there isn't enough time for all the emails to go out and people to follow the links before the items are sold out. In that case, people really get angry.

That is why I promote a release like the monthly subscription 1st thing on the home page of my website for a few weeks in advance.

At 12:00 am there were 357 people with active carts trying to grab a total 72 items that were sold out in 12:00:11 am.

I hope it makes sense why there wasn't an email sent out via the KW email list.

There were a few people that experienced charged cards but no confirmation email. Unfortunately, there were people clicking "submit order" at the same time and one or the other processed just a little faster. If this happens to you, you will notice that your bank will reverse the transaction (if it hasn't already)

I know that could be frustrating.
