Re: Fibs Playing Cards - Launches Today on Kickstarter
Really cool concept. But where's the court and number cards?

Re: Fibs Playing Cards - Launches Today on Kickstarter
There's no pics of the courts anywhere, so that usually means they are just standard courts. The best aspect of this deck is the very nice full bleed back design. The tuck needs work, however.

Re: Fibs Playing Cards - Launches Today on Kickstarter
I do like the backs, but what I'm assuming are standard courts/pips makes it a no go, besides based on the aces I wouldn't like them anyway. Also that's gotta be one of the laziest tucks I've seen, just cut up the back and slap it on all four sides? That's a new level lol. I've seen a lot of projects built entirely around a decent back design and while some get away with it most don't.

I know you've been itching to make these for awhile, I hope the campaign goes smoothly.
I liked this concept from when I first saw it, I'm definitely in for a couple. 2 for $21, shipping included, not a bad deal at all.

Re: Fibs Playing Cards - Launches Today on Kickstarter
I really like these backs, and even with standard courts, I'm in for a pair.
However, I'll note that I'm one of those collectors who occasionally pick up more than just one or two decks, but this project doesn't allow anything between a brick and a pair. I like the pricing on the brick, but that's a bit more decks than I'd be looking for. The project creator should consider adding tiers of 3, 4, or 6 decks at a time. Or, allowing add-ons. This might help to boost pledges and give this enough oomph to get it over the funding threshold.

In line with the theme, the other rewards should be 3, 5, 8 or 13 decks...12 is not in the Fibonacci Squence

A deck a day helps keep the addiction at bay!

Re: Fibs Playing Cards - Launches Today on Kickstarter
Hey everyone!
Thanks for your feedback and support.
Based on what our customers, followers and fans have told us, we have now updated the Fibs tuck case with an all new design.
Attached is a render of the new tuck, I hope you all like it a bit more!
We will be posting the final renders of the Face Cards a bit later.
As for the Court Cards, stay tuned for a very special Private Reserve announcement.
As for Add-On decks, we will be allowing for add on deck purchases once the first weekend is over.
As the deck is limited to a specific number, we wanted to give everyone a chance to grab at least one before we offered too many multiples!
You will see options for add-ons of 1 deck, 3 decks, 5 decks, 8 decks, and 13 decks, in accordance with the sequence (like everything else), of course.
As long as inventory remains available to do so.
Once again, thank you so much for the feedback and support!

Re: Fibs Playing Cards - Updated Tuck Case - Add-Ons Availab
$13 for a deck printed by Cartamundi Cards with no embossing or foil but with a little "surprise" on the bottom flap (QR code) most likely re-directing to Ryan's website so you can purchase his over priced decks. ahhhh no thanks, easy pass.
Shouldn't your deck be about $8-$10 as it carries no tuck features?
Also mentioned on the ks page, "each individual deck will be finished with a hand numbered seal". So is every deck shipped to you being opened so he can hand number each seal and apply it? Wouldn't it be easier for the seals to be printed accordingly and applied to each deck prior to cellophane wrap in the factory?
So many card projects on ks it wouldn't shock me if this doesn't fund but at the same time a 50 day campaign might do it.
And who says Cartamundi is a world leader in playing card production, Ryan??

Re: Fibs Playing Cards - Updated Tuck Case - Add-Ons Availab
From a cardistry perspective, one of my top handling decks of this year is the Purple Ravns by Cartamundi, so shitting on Cartamundi outright isn't fair or even accurate, especially considering the target audience.

Re: Fibs Playing Cards - Updated Tuck Case - Add-Ons Availab
I'm not seeing much of a discrepancy in your proposed pricing and ours, especially considering base shipping is included in the $13 single price.Cardians wrote:$13 for a deck printed by Cartamundi Cards with no embossing or foil but with a little "surprise" on the bottom flap (QR code) most likely re-directing to Ryan's website so you can purchase his over priced decks. ahhhh no thanks, easy pass.
Shouldn't your deck be about $8-$10 as it carries no tuck features?
Also, our multiple deck deals leave pricing as low as $9 per deck, so I'm not sure what your gripe is with our project? Maybe a failed KS in your past?
However, to clarify, Fibs will have an embossed/foil tuck as a stretch goal, based on the support of the deck.
I'm not sure you understand how the process works, but no, we will not be "opening decks" from Cartamundi prior to fulfillment. Thanks for your concern, however.Cardians wrote:Also mentioned on the ks page, "each individual deck will be finished with a hand numbered seal". Has already been addressed, thank you.Cardians wrote: And who says Cartamundi is a world leader in playing card production, Ryan??
So, how many decks can we mark you down for, Cardians??

Re: Fibs Playing Cards - Updated Tuck Case - Add-Ons Availab
Um, yeah... Cartamundi is a world leader in playing card manufacture. Like, really. And, as with USPCC, they consistently churn out some of the most reliably high-quality decks, as well as some of the most reliably shitty decks around (I refer here to USPCC's Congress decks and Cartamundi's souvenir lines). To the extent that these are going to be on the same cardistry-aimed stock/finish that the Purple Ravn's are, I'd say these are going to be a high quality deck.

Agreed, every manufacturer has their value tier and premium tier with vast difference in quality. We have chosen Cartamundi for their incredible recent quality of product, focus on the community, and most importantly, their ability to perform a more precise registration and cut alignment. Some of the "premium" decks coming from USPCC lately have had some issues with strange borders or off-set cuts.rousselle wrote:Um, yeah... Cartamundi is a world leader in playing card manufacture. This is correct. The Fibs will be printed on the same incredible stock as the Origin Cards by CardistryTouch, and have the newest Premium B9 True Linen Finish.rousselle wrote:To the extent that these are going to be on the same cardistry-aimed stock/finish that the Purple Ravn's are, I'd say these are going to be a high quality deck.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I just noticed the Aureas deck was just released. I immediately felt this whole work was just a rip off of the Fibs decks that were funded through Kickstarter (which maybe I might eventually receive).

I never received my Pisano Limited decks and I don't believe others received them or the Private Reserve. I never received a response back and based on posts on the campaign website, I am not aware of anyone receiving their Private Reserve or Pisano decks. We did get the regular Fibs decks. Plus, those of us that didn't receive the special limited decks are doubly upset that the creator is selling extra decks and not communicating about our decks we paid for. I have given up getting them. However, I was curious if anyone received their Private Reserve or Pisano Fibs decks.

Just in from Victor who's put LVCardistry in the Hall of Shame sector and for good reason:

I too read more than once on reddit that he seems to be pretty shady/hard to do business with. Some vouched for him though. I guess it's the same like with Daniel. Some get stuff and others get f****ed.
Definetly someone I would avoid doing business with. Way too shady reputation.
