THIS IS A MUST READ!
Please note that the name of this deck has not been revealed yet.

Release Date: Late January, 2013
Where: Unknown

"This deck is going to shake up the magic and card collectors world. It represents a personal quest to produce the best quality deck of cards in the world, with no compromises. The cards are not printed at USPCC or with USPCC card stock. It is entirely new stock, finish, paper, cut tooling, etc.

David Blaine and Bill Kalush have collaborated extensively in the design and manufacture of this premium deck. We have visited factories worldwide to find the absolute best quality card, and then we improved on it using past expirence. Guaranteed you haven't felt anything as nice out of USPC in the past 8 years. The registration is incredible and the edges immaculate, not rough, uneven or furry like you see on current Bicycle decks.

That's just the card stock. The artwork is by legendary Mark Stutzman in collaboration with Lawrence Sullivan. There is a custom Tuck, Joker, and Ace. It's an stunning Asian themed card based of Japanese and Chinese mythology. A classic and timeless design, engraved by hand by one of the world's leading artists." - Lawrence Sullivan

This statement seems to deny and imply custom court cards.
But I won't hold my breath. :|

I've been talking with Bill. Make no mistake; even though this isn't USPCC, the quality is fantastic.

I'm not one to excessively hype and spew verbiage as above, but I can attest to the quality, it is flawless.

Have you handled these?

Not these specifically, but I have laid my hands on a few others. I was impressed.

Funny enough, we were talking about this during the trip to Erlanger a couple months ago.

Well, I'm definitely curious, though I'm really only mostly interested in full custom decks. Still, being a good non-USPCC is enough to pique my interest. I've got absolutely nothing against USPCC but I like to see some healthy competition; it helps innovate and diversify.

It seems like the card company that is making this deck could be from China. :o

David Blaine posted a pic on his Instagram saying that the customs in Beijing took away one of his "souvenir".

I really don't think that picture or caption has anything to do with this deck. I could be wrong, though.

I'm very interested in this deck and the specifics of its manufacture. The design doesnt really excite me but I'll definitely keep an eye on this and try to get a few.

I meant that in a good way tho, just not sure how long the tuck can keep up its 3D look..

That really does look like some DEEP embossing. I wonder if they'll release all 3 decks at once.. or do it Blaine style and release them 1-2 months apart

I hope staggered. We have had too many releases this year (especially the last few months) and with a new printer I think if the quality is up to par the second and third releases will do much better. Otherwise the inital reception might be a bit tepid. Heck look at the fact that many people were worried about the silver split spades quality based on the price alone.

I actually hope they release them all at once. Place 1 order instead of 3. Shipping rates are high to Canada, so for me it would be better to get them all at once

Yeah and honestly for me, if they release them all at once I'm far more likely to get them all than if I have to place separate orders at a staggered release for just this reason...

First rule of card deck collecting... why buy one, when you can buy 3 at thrice the price...

High in detail, but boring color-wise. At least compared to the box, so it's a bit of a T11-let down for me. The rather dull tint doesn't really make the details visible enough, though I guess that can't be said for certain without seeing the actual deck.

On the upside, the borders seem nice and thin.

I wouldn't say they are boring color wise...just more subdued in my opinion. Then again, im not expecting every deck to burst with color... That's just me though.

I kind of like the colour, it gives it sort of an antiqued look without going for heavy distressing.

Hidden one way back mark on outside corner of wings. Nice.
