New Deck Design Wishes (what design/themes not yet done)

So while I think it would be interesting to create a deck, I'm not a natural artist (although I have image design experience), so if any experienced artists are listening....Here's my wishlist of themes I would like to see in future cards. Please, add your own as well or comment. Maybe I'm not aware these out there. I would also prefer them to be fully custom decks and not just back design or courts. I also realize some of these examples are far too detailed for cards, but I included to explain what I am thinking of.
  • Art Deco - Yes I am aware of the Bicycle Deco, but I'm looking for something more art deco architecture of NYC without being buildings. A few examples:

  • Computer generated 3D Abstract - Hard to explain, but can incorporate blueprint like design elements as well

  • Blueprint - geometric or straight line theme, that appears to be similar to a blueprint / CAD design. Somewhat similar to above, but more skeleton framed art design.
  • Castle theme - Yes, there are plenty of castle photo decks and a few castle backs. I'm not sure what this would look like to be subtle enough to not be obviously castle walls or generic overdone fantasy/medieval theme, but I really desire something in this theme.

I've always wanted to find a nice art nouveau deck, as if Alphonse Mucha himself had made it. Such vivid and intricate artwork. I've seen some around with Mucha backs but I can't really call it an art nouveau deck. Something that really captures the period.

Not sure if this is what you had in mind... but you made me think of this deck:

@th4mo - thanks for the notice on that Revision deck. It's not quite what I was looking for since I would prefer the deck to consist entirely of more like the A of spades design, but I'll still add it to my list and may end up picking it up anyhow.

@sastian - really hoping to end up doing an art deco deck!!! :D

Please don't be creeped out, but I want to hug you. Awesome! I like your inspiration material. If the deck you create makes me feel like I'm inside the Chrysler or Empire State buildings then it will be a success in my eyes.

I realized what I'm really looking for here is a deck in the STYLE of Romanesque and Gothic cathedrals which can also be seen in many castles. Something that captures the style without being just photos, taking cues from the many lines, spires, arches and gothic elements. I could easily see the court cards being stained glass windows of a gothic cathedral, the back an intricate gothic spire design and the number cards having the pips embeded and colored within a sketch of a building or number of spires.

So kind of as if Lotrek and Warpunk teamed up and mashed Grotesque with Revenant/Vivant? :)http://www.maxplayingcards.com/en/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/RevenantVivant02.jpg

I found this and got excited for a second, but it's just a student's art project for a tuckbox and back design.

This flight deck came close on a few cards, but being focused on flight obviously it doesn't count.

you're definitely going down the path i've been on since i've started this journey... it's not about themes... its about styles.
I've elaborated on this in a page i plan to put up on my site. i'll post a link here when it's up.

Well the Aces were amazing (as you can see), and backs. But the courts, not so much. Also it was marketed as a games box rather than a deck which didn't help.

A well done stained glass & wrought Iron deck would definitely be successful I think.

Nice to see that volantangel's deck should more than make this desire for a proper stained glass deck come to life!

In looking at the Get Made deck on KS, which does have art deco back (still not fully what I'm looking for, but nice), I see it has a car card and others with them featured. This made me realize I still haven't seen a good automotive deck. I have the Tune Up deck which is 50s cartoon with car theme and there are a TON of "let's slap car photos onto a playing cards" decks. I'm not sure how this could be properly pulled off, I suppose a historic deck with Henry Ford and the like with classic cars that were drawn could work. Possibly with automtive and wheel design element thrown in, especially styled logos and hood ornaments?
