The eyes on the courts downright terrify me but I'm still really digging this deck. Awesome deck, shimmering!

It's surprisingly great. I usually don't like these types of decks.

backed for a couple.. I love the artwork and the colour schemes and the pips...i guess there is a reason but why doesnt the jack have the arch like the queen and king at the top of the card ?

There is a LOT to like here. Well done!
Edit: I don't like the shipping charges, alas, but I'm still backing for a trio. I realize not every interesting project will originate shipping from North America. Alas.

I'm a fan of this type of decks. Not a reproduction per se but made in the spirit of an era. I loved your takes on the tarot and the mamluk, I'll jump right in on this one even if I'm staying away from Kickstarter as much as I can theses days (unless there are exclusives, I usually don't back anymore).
Great job!

Many thanks for the kind comments all of you! And thanks for backing, it's very much appreciated.
RE: the border shapes, mainly I wanted the king, queen, jack to all have different border layouts, and both rectangular and arch-topped border shapes are pretty typical in those gospel books.

I just read an update on this deck this evening and didn't realize until now that the campaign was up.
For those of you not familiar with Ian Cumstey's work, you should. His decks are just amazing. You can see from this design, that this deck is exceptional. Ian doesn't put out a ton of decks, and you should really consider adding his decks to your collection. This one will be printed by Cartamundi, so the handling and performance is going to be solid. No fancy bells and whistles here, but frankly a great design and worth your consideration.
I am in and glad to be backing another of your campaigns.

Quick question here, does he usually use Cartamundi's older finishes or the current B9? I saw his previous campaigns printing from Cartamundi UK which got me thinking.
Not that it'll affect my decision to back though.

I really like these and backed for several decks. His earlier decks are great too. I was able to order some of his earlier deck, Pike and Clover but wish I could find his Viceroys and Inglewood Hunting decks for sale.

Thanks! Yes, I fear these decks may already be hard to find.

I got mine from the designer’s website. I don’t know if he still has them available anymore. Of course Jick is a good option as well.

They are not available any longer from his website. I also reached out to him directly hoping he might have some private reserve that he would be willing to sell, but he does not. I am PMing with Jock to get one of each. Would like to get at least a couple of each, if you have any you are willing to part with.

DECK SCANS REMOVED - DMCA TAKEDOWN
I have never handled any of his other decks so i dont know if the quality is the same, but this is not a working deck. quality is souvenir, and they dont fan at all. However, The art, is fantastic. I am quite happy with this as a display deck.

Curious what this means? Did Ian file a complaint?

Pretty sure it has to be the owner of the IP who has to file the claim so that would be a yes IMO. Certainly within his rights, especially if a high Res scan.

Why not simply reaching out to macstrat first? He's the last guy that wouldn't comply.
But maybe Ian doesn't know that the deck scans are from mac.

Yes. He was the one to file the complaint. I am not posting it here to protect his confidential information (email address, ip address, etc)
He is 100% in his right. I make NO claims that I hold the copyright, but I cant put them in public domain either. As far as I am concerned, these images belong to the creators of the decks, I am simply an archivist. If an artists wants me to take a scan down (and a few have), I will happy oblige. I have even contacted some of the artists personally if the scans are not up to my standards to see if they want me to continue posting. I hate posting scans that don't do a deck justice. There area also a few decks that I have watermarked to protect the asset at the artists requests. It also why I try to post a link to the deck for people to purchase.

Same as above. I think im going to start putting my UC, reddit, and contact info on the banner so that its easier to contact me instead of going thru flickr and risking them banning me. Im also looking for a new host, but flickr does make it soooooo easy. Either way, they are his IP and he can do with it as he pleases.

Macstrat, you are a class act.
As an owner of IP myself, I can understand why Ian did this, just as I can understand why other creators do not. It's all good, in my opinion. I also appreciate your work as an archivist, macstrat.
