The video is better than the cards. We're not being asked to invest in a video...cmossa wrote:Thx for your constructive and sensible comments.
Of course everything can be made better.
these are decisions of the two guys involved in their project and they was really happy about their job and me and my wife too.
My question is again: did you see the video from the start to the end ?
Sometimes maybe everyone should look beyond the finger

We believe that dreams should always come true and with this project we hope to realize one of our dreams.
The question is: what would you do in my place?Bradius wrote:I am not sure I know the question you want us to answer. I appreciate what the decks mean to you and your family and wish you well with your Kickstarter campaign.

Hello thanks for your suggestion. I already print a deck there but the quality is really ZERO. The cards are near unusable. We print the prototype to MPC but also the French casino line quality are not good as USPCC.sashado wrote:I understand your desire to help the child realize his dream. I think you can do it in a simpler way, than Kickstarter, as cards collectors buy the decks from points of good or unusual design. For example, you can print the deck yourself in a digital printing office - these are not "real" cards, but it should not be expensive. Also you can print a small number (starting from 1) of real decks here http://www.makeplayingcards.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.. It will cost more, but it will be real cards on card stock.
I can understand how you feel. We want the best for our kids, we want them to have dreams, and we wish those dreams et get fulfilled.cmossa wrote:It's half a day I think if write to you or not. I've decided now to do it
I'm doing it only to better explain you why sometime happens things that are difficult to understand like also to find on kickstarter a project like this. Everything has a story. It is not only what you can see
Premise
- I do not want compatime
- I do not expect any money from anyone
- I ask a simple answer to this question: what would you do in my place?
I asked you to see the video just for a reason
do you see hair in the head of the baby under his cap or in the end when he lies down?
no one can have hair after 2 years of chemotherapy
After six months of bed his hands began to make magic with the cards in place of his legs with a balloon
magic has become his life
when one day he came and told me all his ideas point by point: he had everything in his head. Let's make our own deck of cards talking about life
the J, the Q, the K
the jolly must be a hug between you and mom and ace a kiss
If we sell our card decks, mom can stay home and not go back to work
these things make your heart explode more than when the doctors told us that he had a tumor at the femur
the magic is to see him walking with his prosthesis
for all of us this is LIFE DECK
We do it not to make profit but only to do something to give happiness to our son and if this is to try to produce card decks we will also do 1000 of kickstarter projects. when he does not want them to do more we will disappear as we have appeared
now you can reply to the question I made at the beginning

But at the same time, I believe we have an education responsibility towards our kids. And that is to have realistic expectations on those dreams, that they cannot happen magically, that we have to work for it and to dedicate ourselves to it. With time we realize some dreams are totally out of reach, and then we pursue other dreams. Or we realize that our dreams are not yet ready to be fulfulled, that we have other milestones to achieve first, and then we work on them, one at a time, and we learn along the way.
Sometimes we fail, and there is a lot learn from those failures. Where I live, the education system has been reformed so kids have less chance of failing a grade. But it is wrong, it makes them lazy. If there is not fear of failure, they put less effort into their study, and they content will achieving less. When you fail, and then get back on your feet again, you know how it feels, that you must work to succeed, and that failure is not the enough, just a step. This teaches an amazing life lesson.
The condition of your child does not changing anything to that. Getting a deck printed needs more than a kickstarter campaign. Paying to print a deck and giving some away is not the same achievement as having it funded by people who want to have it willfully in their hands.
And pity is not respect. You do not want to child to be pitied, nor to have an easy life because people feel sorry for him. You want people to learn to know your child for who he is, not his condition. You want people to treat him exactly as others would be, for who he is.
That is exactly the reaction you got at first on this forum. People critized the project for what it is. If the project does not get funded, get back to the drawing board, rethink what can be done differently, what can be improve. It is the right thing to propose a deck to your liking, but to get it funded you will need it to appeal enough to other people to commit their money. Everybody has a different way of communicating. Go past the negative and see what can be improved, ask if you must.
Creating a deck of cards as a family project is an amazing experience that gets you closer to each other. Whether it gets funded or not, you will have already achieved something big as a family. That's more than the average family will ever do.
I perfectly understand what you mean but we don't want to share this project in those groups.sms69x wrote:I totally simpatize with you by doing this KS project to somehow help your child through this pain proccess, but unfortunately you'll not find much support here, not because we are a bunch of heartless guys, but we mostly collect playing cards, and these as playing cards are only good because of one thing: they are to be printed by USPCC, other than that is just another design, and not much appealing, at least to me.
I think you would gather more support if you share your story in a couple of support groups for people with cancer, I'm sure you will find there the support to have this deck funded and realize your child's dream.
Don't get me wrong, if I had enough money to spend I could very well pleadge for this, but unfortunatelly there are too many good playing cards projects right now on KS for me to spend money on your project.
Wish you all the luck with your project and hope you and your familly manage to get through this situation well.
Good luck Creator. Whether it is successfully funded or not, you will make new associations and friends for sure.cmossa wrote:I promise that I will not bore you anymore but I'd like to share with you all this message received some day ago.
This guy sent us a donation without buying a deck. I asked him why. Below his amazing reply
Hi creator, to be honest, I used to be a cards collector, but I turned visually impaired a few years ago. I haven't been buying cards that often since then, although I cannot see your designs and the shipping is too high for me, but the back story in your campaign sounded inspiring and the design description was interesting, so I chipped in hoping it's helpful. Good luck with the campaign!
