Put me in the proponent column for nuclear energy. It's a fascinating topic IMO. and when was the last time you saw a catchy commercial for solar or wind energy? On my iPad so can't get full link to embed.

I'm all for nuclear for a while just use up all the nuclear bombs for energy, but please put that reactor high on hill in a desolate spot away from people.
There is no way in hell I'm living in New York. That is a terrorist first target if they ever get hold of a nuke. North Korea would probably sell them one. We need to free those people.

Actually, you'd want it in a very low lying area. If it were high in the air and the reactor blew up, the nuclear waste would spread over a much greater area. If it were in a low valley in the mountains, it would be more contained.

I would agree to a large extend that this is the case. However the problem with low lying areas is the presence of underground water flow, should there be a presence of a underground stream/area of high permeablity the effects could be as large or even worse due to the undetectable nature.

Re: Last person to post wins. . . . .
Somewhat relatable story here, I live about 10 miles from the site of a former nuclear plant, Rancho Seco, located south of Sacramento, CA out in the middle of the country. Why do I say former plant? Well they built it, loaded her up and flipped the switch and reached criticality. Then a few years later there was a power supply failure that led to steam generator dry out. Which could have led to much worse things happening. It's labeled as the 3rd most serious atomic power occurrence in the US behind 3 Mile Island and the fire at Brown's Ferry.
When we first moved here they'd still routinely test the very large and VERY loud air raid sirens spread throughout the countryside that'd be used to warn of a major issue at the plant. It was shut down early 90s and the lake that held the cooling water is now a popular swimming / fishing hole. Even learned to windsurf there. Pretty cool to swim in the waters that were slated to cool a nuclear plant in an emergency IMO.
Anywho, all the reactors are empty now and the fuel rods were shipped off a long time ago but the cooling towers are still visible for miles and miles around and the reactor building still there too. Wish they'd allow tours but no way they'd do that.

No. But had I read them in the state I was in on Friday night, they might have.chach wrote:Does that mean Sprouts' comments make sense to you?MagikFingerz wrote:Just came back from a weekend in Amsterdam with the girlfriend.

Then again, I don't think anyone is supposed to make sense of them. It's their abstractness that make them so beautifully confusing, the possibilities for interpretation are endless. Some things are just beyond human comprehension, and that's ok.

Don't you just hate it when you finish reading all the new posts in New and Custom, then return to the Board Index and see that another post has been posted in that split second it took to load the Index? If people could just stop doing that, that'd be great!

Re: Last person to post wins. . . . .
I get happy when that happens. Like when when a carnival ride finishes and you're like "awww" but the operator decides to give you one more spin and you're like "yayy".

Blah, effort.
Speaking of, how can I get a beach body with the least amount of effort? Preferably while binge watching Netflix and not interrupting my cheeseburger IV?

Well worth it. Each page contains essential information on the meaning of life, love, finance and yes...even sexual prowess. All the worlds treasures will unlock upon reaching the end of your journey.aztecas101 wrote:Hmmm to read 200+ pages?....
Venture forth, young traveler! And we'll welcome you into the fold upon your return.
p.s: we'll know if you're lying about reading the entire thread. And the consequence for such a feeble treachery will be severe and endure upon generations and generations of your progeny.

Honestly, This is there best one yet. I'll still see the movie, but I might have to drink a beer and smoke a little to understand it. I'll bet MagikFingerz will watch it also. YOu know.
