I'll give it a couple weeks until I break it apart, but it's a beautiful deck just made better. I was really debating between getting red or blue and have to admit I'm not second guessing it any more. The blue and silver is just amazing. My first gilded deck from UUSI, looking forward to my gilded &a boxed BrĂ¼t deck now.

I apologize in advance for the size of this post. It's been awhile since I posted new stuff.

Some Congress sets. The top I got on Etsy for $8. The bottom set is from my local thrift store. I paid $1 for them. They are complete and in good condition.

Image

Two more sets from the Thrift Store. The top deck still has it's cello from the National Gallery of Art and the decks are still sealed. I paid $1.25 for them. The bottom deck is a bit worn but complete. Arrco decks pre USPCC.

Two more from the trusty thrift store. Both are complete and the Batman deck is sealed. The Coca-Cola deck has a trademark date of 1994,

Image

This deck, also from the thrift store was quite a surprise. The bottom of the deck says "NOT FOR SALE. Printed in the United States for the Dept. of Defense." They look to be made for service members being deployed to Iraq/Afghanistan and each card has a message about preserving artifacts or looting and what to do about it. The deck is opened but still has it's cello, is complete and is in pristine condition. The stock and finish feel like USPCC but there are no markings from the maker. If anyone has info about this deck it would be greatly appreciated.

A miniature 404 Rider Back Deck in a plastic case with a key chain clip. The deck and plastic are in perfect condition and the deck is complete.

On to Wal-Mart. They finally got some new decks.

Image

Image

Also from Wal-Mart. I forget the names.

Image

Image

More Wal-Mart decks. These are called Marsala and Moscato.

Image

Image

I won a $50 Visa gift card at work so I used it to pick up these Tally-Ho decks (Along with some other stuff)

Image

Image

And last but by no means least some trades/gifts from Shermjack and Volantangel. Thank you again gentlemen. You are both proof of how great UC and it's members are.

The Walmarts around my way probably won't have them if they didn't have the mint and forest green decks. I'll keep an ebay lookout plus I wanna see how courts look.

I am going to open some so if I find time I will take and post some pics of the cards.

You guys want to know a secret?

I usually look for the decks in the toys/board games section, but I've been able to find these decks, and a few others (cocktail party, etc.) in a different section of Wally World!

So I've been planning for my wedding and looking at the crafts section in Wal-Mart for decoration ideas/cheap decorations. I was able to find both the mint and forest green decks, as well as a handful of other "stylish" decks in the Party decorations/favors section! I suppose Wal-Mart considers these decks as "party favors/giveaways"

happy hunting fellas! I really need to post my collection in here....

Nice backs, but I stopped buying Congress decks once I realized that they all have standard courts.

Nice find! I'd heard about this deck, but have yet to run across one.

I just hope that ISIS isn't handing it out to THEIR troops as a "Things to smash" list. :(

I've gotten a red, a green and a blue-backed one of these, all from eBay. I also got a similarly packaged Coke/Polar bear mini and a Scooby Doo mini, each with the keychain-like thing. Not sure how I'm going to store them, though.

ETA: It isn't a keychain, by the way. It is evidently made to be used to clip the deck to the rings on a backpack. Lots of small toys and other doohickeys are sold with the clips, and kids evidently use them to "personalize" their backpacks.

Also picked up a brick of tax-stamped Bees (some from NYCC and some from Consolidated-Dougherty/USPCC)
How does the image sizing work here?

I'll have to crack these open once they acclimate to the environment. The heat was particularly brutal when they were delivered.

All have been shown, but Malam, Hive & LUXX gilt decks showed up yesterday.

The Hive 2 especially Limited Edition turned out very nice!

Or what? You'll release the dogs, or the bees? Or the dogs with bees in their mouths and when they bark, they shoot bees at you? Well, go ahead! Do your worst!

Took advantage of the Vanda $5 a deck sale the other weekend. Here is something that puzzles me: The Polaris Eclispse is hand numbered 2165 of 5000. The Polaris Solar is just one unnumbered deck out of 2500. So which one is more rare, valuable, limited, or whatever metric you want to use?

Additionally, a deck from my favorite sci-fi TV show that nobody seemed to watch yet ran for ten years- Stargate SG1. It's photos slapped on poor quality cards but it brings back fond memories.

Forget White Whale, a full deck of those are the Holy Grail and the Ark of the Covenant right there. I think you should try to burn them to make sure they're real. ;)

Excluding Vellichor, all recent KickStarter and related projects, here's a few recent additions. 4 semi-white whales in there too (hint - it's NOT Peppa Pig or Beers)

Received these this week, 2 Tally Ho's signed and its my lucky number 4/700, lucky 7/700 (007 James Bond deck lol) and 28/750. I think those are some pretty sweet numbers. Kings Wild sold 25 signed decks, wouldn't you think these would be more rare then the decks limited to 200, im just saying, love the decks.

Being on a fixed income, I don't have too many days where I gain a bunch of decks in one day, but today just felt like a great day that I wanted to share with people that will understand how I felt...

Between several searches at Target stores, a package from Bicycle, and a package from Gambler's Fulfillment, these are what I gained today... My wife would have killed me if my Brick of Red, Green and Blue Impression decks had arrived at the same time!

(ps The Silver and Blue Spirit decks, ARE Silver and (Dark) Blue, and NOT Black as posted on the Playing Card Database [portfolio52])

You mean how they show up as clearly blue in your photo? :? Sorry, they are far closer to black than blue. I could maybe buy the argument that they are very dark navy blue with cellophane removed and in pure sunlight, but they are NOTHING like what they were planned to be. http://unitedcardists.com/viewtopic.php ... 024#p90024

They are a super duper dark blue as opposed to a rich deep blue that I was expecting. I would have preferred them to not be as dark.

Nice haul, Will. I'm still checking Targets ...

  We should have a poll on whether people think the Bicycle Spirit deck is black or navy. I vote for navy.

Also I haven't opened my gilded decks yet, I guess I'm until they get settled.

Do we determine which they are (Blue or Black) based on the color of the card back, or of the tuck?

Re: The "Hey, look what I added to my collection!" thread

I was talking about the tuck. It's dark navy blue but very nearly black.

I think that the named color should reflect the card back rather than the tuck.

Regardless f that, what does the USPCC Call the color, in adverts/catalogs? I would think that THAT, whatever it is, is how it should be referred to both here and in the database.

I think the point is that whether they call them "Dark Navy" or whatever, they are nowhere near the blue they were supposed to be.
