I just read the book. Very nice. Informative. Great design. I should have ordered more than one. Would have made nice gifts. Congratulations, Rick!

Woohoo! Got my signed Grail edition uncut sheet from rick today. Arrived in good condition though I admit I was really nervous as sticky tape was used on the ends of the actual sheet to keep it rolled up. :o Peeled off without any damage but as I was doing so all I could imagine was that it would peel some of the finish away as well and cause damage. But again, everything looks great on it, will be dropping by frame store sometime soon to see about getting some matting cut and then build a frame for it.

I did go to Michaels earlier today and picks up a precut matting for my lithograph, but I'll have to enlarge the cutout, shouldn't be an issue, just need to make a 45 degree holder for some No. 11 blades. But this is what it'll look like.

Got my mixed brick and sorry to beat a dead horse, but those "First Editions" tucks did NOT get Q1 service; shame, as the "Grail" tucks are perfect & beautiful - however, the cards in both decks are fantastic.

Perhaps I'm not as picky, but I FINALLY got my single deck (1st Ed) and no issues at all with shipping damage or production quality. Perhaps the 2nd run and 2nd shipping put into practice lessons learned.

Should have got a 2nd deck for special night play use, this deck is amazing and functional. Love the history, art work and the tuck. So when/where can we buy more???? :D

Also, this is the first deck that I was attracted to a court card. That's not weird is it? That QoC is very well drawn!

Ecnate That is not weird at all considering the QoC is Charlize Theron which is a beautiful actress (IMO anyway) That trivia fact got me a free Origins deck for guessing correctly

While it was unfortunate that some of my decks got damaged during shipping, I just want everyone to know that Rick has been nothing less than first class in remedying the situation in a very prompt manner. So many times when things go south in a campaign, the designer goes into hiding hoping the mess will blow over, so its refreshing to see such great customer service from someone who isn't even here locally in the same country.

The more I look at these cards, the nicer they look - exquisite back design and tuck, and some of the best custom court cards out there. With such a strong debut, I can't wait for whatever Rick will produce in the future. For me, the Origins decks are strong contenders for our annual UC Deck of the Year contest.

Not weird at all. I got the print of the QoC because, quite frankly, she's beautiful. Though I still think she looks more like Scarlett Johansson than Charlize Theron.

Ha love the comments, thanks guys. Have to say I feel kinda sad for the other queens, the QoC came in for a lot more prints than the others. It's been a bit of a rough week in the shipping dept but I guess nothing runs 100% all the time. Thanks for the ups Sin, and that print looks great Chach, nice. Just waiting for the dust to settle on the final shipments and I'll reopen the store.

Looking forward to seeing Charlize in Mad Max ;)

Haha that's what I thought as well!

Anyways Rick, after the dust has settled, any plans for a new deck ?

@RickDavidson - So, you have proven yourself. What is next? Got any teasers. I would love to see them. I would love to help you make a perfect deck. You and I are on the same path. What I find so cool is you went before the time of the suicide king and made it work...

I would be greatly interested in a similar deck that had the court cards more colourful, maybe even using the same colours and tones in those 15thC decks.

Hey guys, almost complete on the shipping. Not all plain sailing there as noted.

On future plans, I do have a few rough concepts for new decks, one in the Origins family. It has been a pretty long and bumpy ride during production and shipping though so just assessing where to from here. Still have a few things I need to sort out. A lot still on the go at the USPCC and a few nice decks coming through. Was nice to have the Ornates and Grotesque arrive unscathed, v nice guys :)

I've loved the campaign and production phase, but it will be great to get back to the cave and pick up the crayons again. Not quite done with this one though - overall the decks came together as well as I'd hoped, and the print quality and embossing is A1. Or Q1..

They are wonderful Rick.

Once you have all the shipping done and a line is drawn under this project, are there any hints you can give us of what the future holds?

Do we have a name for this new iteration? I absolutely love what I am seeing!

But, it's still begging for a name like... Follow-Ons. Or, Colorations. Or... Sequels.

Only, this will be like Superman II or Godfather II, where the sequel is simply awesome.

I think for now it's more of a one off. This is from the same update that pic is from:

The future

Will there be another Origins deck? I've yet to decide. While I had no plans to produce additional variations, there is one concept a number of backers have requested. Any major developments will be mentioned here but if you would like advance notice, subscribe on the Origins site.

It's Q1. It's like .50 extra per deck. I think all casinos demand Q1 from the USPCC. We get Q2. It's free. Q3 is probably less per deck, but why get it. So after the fulfillment process do you think you will hire a fulfillment company next time? I hear it's like $3 a package. You could be in the man cave fairly quickly. I like the QoS. She has a specter and a flower. Go ahead and move the suit indicator to the right as it was originally done. As long as you have the squeezers It doesn't matter where the suit indicator is on the card. Then you could draw a LONG specter for her to bash somebody's head in. Besides her head seems to be a bit cocked back. That would correct it...

Looking in the art book, there are many other courts that can get the updated treatment. Since there's a white and navy tuck, that theme would look good in a maroon colored tuck.
"When I like something, I buy. No matter who did it, how many were printed or how many (re)colors exist.

When I don't like something, I pass. No matter who did it, how many were printed or how many (re)colors exist."
