The green color that Mirror posted above looks great on the King in my opinion.

Things I would care about when deciding whether to buy this deck would be:
1. Great design - nothing cheesy
2. Thin borders on back
3. Customization - court cards, spot cards. If there won't be custom court cards... then at least customized pips on the other cards?
4. Please no ad card - would much prefer to have an extra gaff/magic card.

Design thoughts:
I like how on Dan & Dave's cards they just have two D's. So I think, if the back design were to have the name "United Cardists" on it... it might be better to just use the two letters... UC ?

Community Participation:
Is it possible to see some rough drafts of different design directions, and let the community express their opinion before going too far down one path?

The court cards and pips will not be customized, but they will be custom colored. The back design, tuck box, seal(tentatively), ace of spades and jokers will be customized. There will be an ad card along with a gaff card. I already told Randy I would like thin borders. We should have some pictures in the next week or 2. As soon as we do I will post them.

I think it's going to be hard to make a two-way back design with just those to letters (and I think the majority prefers two-way). But I'll wait and see what Randy comes up with.

I thought those double D's were the worst part of the S&M design. I agree with MagikFingerz that keeping the back a two way design is a must.

I know most everyone loves thin borders (I do too), but that's sometimes not so practical for magicians and for margin of error in the printing and cuttiing process. I was thinking a great compromise would be to have super thin and scalloped borders on the side for beautiful fans and spreads but standard borders on the top and bottom to appeal to magicians as well as increase the margin of error in the printing and cutting process.

I like the idea of a UC deck but I am not optimistic that they will be able to sell all 2500 to members only. I just don't think we have the population right now.

Actually, I wouldn't mind if it was sold to the public and came with an ad card for the site and maybe one for BMP as well. UC would get more members and Mike would get more business. Win/Win

The UC ad card could have the history of the site, all the way from decknique up till now. And the BMP card could have a discount code.

The only problem would be how to market it to non-members.

My first priority will be to make a Deck that appeals to UC members AND be cool enough to draw in new members or coax lurkers to take the leap and sign up. If Ellusionist can get people to sign up for whatever it was they're charging to have the chance to buy a Black Artifice, I would imagine a well-designed Bicycle UC Deck could get people to tryout a fun, laid back and FREE Forum like this one!

I think all of this talk about if it will sell is a bit "chicken before the egg". I'll have a Back Design, Tuck Box and Render to show in less than a week. Please be a little patient.

I think marketing this Deck would be similar to other marketing strategies - Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, BMPokerworld's Blog, various Card Blogs, The Discourse!!...

It would definitely need an ad card to promote the site. I would normally buy 2 decks but I'm willing to buy 3-5 if it's a good design. I don't mind standard faces as long as the colors aren't standard as well.

Jay already posted on Discourse about the UC deck and Alex buried it. He gave a BS excuse about having a problem with Jay. The bottom line is he doesn't want anyone to come here. But from all the people that go there and then come here, they like the feel here way better and they don't feel Big brother is always watching them here, like over there.

Once the deck is designed, hopefully someone will post it over there and we will see what he does when it is someone who has not called Alex out for what he has done.

I'll confess to being one who actually checked out Discord, uh, I mean Discourse when UC went down for such a long time. I think there's some good info there, and I even think that Don Boyer dude tries to be helpful, but Alex clearly has issues and is insecure. I hate how every comment about UC is a snide, backhanded insult.

Getting back to the UC deck, I'm all for it and would definitely get at least a couple - and a lot more if the design is really good, which I think it will be if Randy and others here are involved.

With UC alive, Mike running the show, and Randy designing, I can't wait! In for at least a brick!

i will buy a brick! I'm looking forward them. Maybe I can give you some design suggestions.~~

and I will continue to finish my design, I think that is a new ascension....

I actually think Don is more of a problem than Alex. He posts on EVERYTHING and many times his posts are condescending or even insulting "woah, have you even heard of Google, why bother saying anything since you don't have a brain" is typical of what I've seen.

Definitely done with that place.

Nice! But I think I'd rather have the green bar cross from top left to bottom right, and also have the text the "right way" on top.

I agree with the bar position.

Personally, I like the design on the diagonal. If it went on the top and bottom, what would you guys want in the middle? The UC logo?

Yes !!!! I agree with the slant change. The rest is just classy enough with the right amount of color to work for performers and card games. I might have to increase to more than just one brick.

What do you guys think of the inside of the box being colored green to match UC's colors?

I personally don't like having the words "United Cardists" printed on the back. It some how feels too obvious, and not elegant. Besides, people will know what this deck is based off the tuckbox itself. Plus the fact it sounds like an ad card will be in there.

I agree that (if there is going to be a green diagonal stripe at all)... it should go top left to bottom right, so it shows up in fans.

Lastly, is it possible for the dark scales in the background to look more like the ones on this website? On the website they somehow look more real-life due to the fact some are duller than others. They are non-perfect... which looks cool in my opinion. I think it would still be possible to do this and yet avoid a one-way back.
