Heads up, these are now on sale on Kings Wild.

Display Decks: $5
Continental/Crown Decks: $15
Limited Edition Independence Playing Card Set: $100
Limited Edition Independence Wooden Case Collector's set: $350

Having passed on the original campaign, I ordered 4 Display decks, 2 of each colour - paid $26 shipped for 4 Jackson Robinson decks. Too good of a deal for me to pass up on.

I picked up 4 additional display decks. At $26.50 shipped, fantastic value to play with I think.

Ouch. I wonder if anybody got burned on the display decks via eBay.

Thanks for the notice. Good price on the display decks, on the fence for those. If only the Reserve Notes were available in display decks for that price, I would buy every last one.

I picked up an extra pair of display decks myself.

I've got a question: the display decks are the same cards as the LTDs so how many decks are there actually? I like the idea of display decks but they kind of devalue the LTDs don't they?

Pretty much, Jackson planned this from the get-go anyways to make up for the 2500 min run from uspcc, this is essentially one elaborate tuck swap.

... though the explanation given was that the vellum wrap around the limited decks had to be sealed (clever folding and the band wouldn't do the job), so the display decks are the same cards in a plain unsealed box so you don't have to open your limited decks.

Though I'm still tempted to any way because of the funky tucks with the big flaps and diptych inner flap design. If you pledge for the limited tiers you god the display decks for 'free' (or at least as a surprise anyway).

The display decks were "free" but considering that one set was $75, the cost of the display decks are already more than covered by the buyer. Typically a set would average around $30-50, including the two deck cardboard box. It was smart to set the price of the limited edition set to cover for the cost of four decks, and then introduce the display decks later as a surprise.

Also, like Pierre mentioned earlier, this goes to show how much people a couple months ago were willing to pay for a set of LEs. People pledged $75 thinking they were only getting two decks. I wonder if people would still pledge $37.50 per deck for an LE now.

I can't say I'm surprised that the display decks are on sale. Assuming a 2,500 print run, there are approximately 500 display decks left over, since 1,000 were given away with the 1,000 LEs in the nicer tuck box.

The $5 for a display deck is tempting, but I don't like the feel of the smooth finish (although it's better for displaying the artwork), so I can't say I'll be using these decks for regular game play.

Oh, I opened mine :P

I usually don't open them, but this one was okay, cuz you could wrap it back up in the parchment paper and place the sticker back on. If you do it carefully enough, it doesn't even look like it's been opened. I just really wanted to see the diptych thing. xD

My package arrived safe and sound to Australia. I got the limited edition award with one regulars continental and crown decks, and added one ,ore of each crown and continental. The only thing I don't like is the smooth finish on the limited edition. Jackson mentioned he chose the smooth finish to complement the art, however, when asked in the "Holmes" thread I thought he mentioned that it doesn't matter which finish you choose to compliment the art is any better.
