I am not sure they are a reliable indication of long-term market value. I have seen a regular gilded subscription decks sell for $200+. I think as more of these book sets hit, the value will stabilize much lower.
I'd say the first flips/sells after the initial drop are heavily fueled by FOMO.
Some collectors that missed out on a somewhat rare/soughtafter release lose for a short period of time the connection between brain and wallet and pay every price their wallet is able to pay, no matter if inherent value is there or not.
After the cool down, prices will stabilize lower.

I actually opened the deck and it is so lovely. The cards are a bit stiff so I most likely wont be playing with these but what a treat to look at.

I hope you feel happy that you made a profit! Must be really satisfying to snatch a limited collector's item and sell for quadruple on spot!

To be fair, it's neither his fault that the item is limited nor that some folks are happy to pay quadruple+ for it

I know that. But I'd really expect that at least it's not presented here almost as an achievement. A little modesty would be great. Sell your decks at profit on eBay but just please don't come here to tell us the news. Some of us missed the short window and it seems a bit rude.

Agreed. This is literally scalping. As much as I would love to rake in the money like that myself, I feel it's more respectful to give others the chance to purchase one at the initial price.

Eh, if a market supports it then Profiteers will profit. It's the way of the world and what a grand world it is too. I have never sold a deck of playing cards but I don't begrudge those that do. On occasion I make use of secondary market to purchase a deck or two. It's not the best look to bounce over to a thread and declare one's healthy profit, no. I feel like it would be a better idea to simply pat the fattened wallet with a contented grin.
(A la fat cat with a belly full) Everyone has a day of posting things they look back on and reconsider their choice in words or the post overall. It's all good we're all peoples.
Isn't it fantastic when a deck that was previously going through the hardships of
"It's too thick and doesn't handle well. The foil is on the indices. It smells like varnish" etc turns into a very much in demand deck because of a bit of color on the edge and a limited number on the box? I love the ebb and flow of opinions over the same deck. It's fantastic to be part of the collector community.

I think this deck should always be in demand (dipped in chocolate, cinnamon and sugar, gilded or plain) because it looks fantastic but that's just mine own opinion.

Ok I think I have a better picture now. I just saw LasVegasCards' post on the Sell page. He says he saw what the deck was going for on eBay and decided to sell it for some extra Christmas money to spend on his family. I don't have any issue with this. My apologies for misunderstanding earlier.
What I don't generally approve of is buying multiple decks with the express purpose of selling them immediately for profit. It's a great way to make money, but makes others lose out on the opportunity to claim a deck for themselves at a reasonable price.

It’s not rude. Be an adult. No one was bragging. You’re the guy that came into my buy sell thread to post a passive aggressive gif. I sold my entire collection to fund a KWP only collection. This is the first KWP deck I’ve resold. Ever. I also sold it at a serious discount to what it is going for on EBay and the guy that bought it didn’t feel screwed.
Grow up and find the proper place for your anger after missing out on one deck launch. Jesus what a child.

I bought one Sherwood Deck for my collection. I collect NOTHING but KWP. The anger in this thread should be directed at Jackson for the launch problems...not at me. I’m just an easy target.

This current discussion doesn't really have much to do with the launch problems. It could apply to any release. I also don't think any anger should be directed at Jackson for something that was very clearly not his fault.

If this were an issue that Jackson wanted to address in order to mollify, to some extent, his enthusiastic fan base and thereby keep the enthusiasm going, he *could* limit the number of decks sold per member to one.
Of course, maybe he did that, and it still sold out super fast, in which case... good on him, I suppose. Still, it's a little bit of a bummer to be a big backer of his subscription plan and losing out on these special decks every single time. Le sigh.

I just received my Sherwood edition. This is my first KWP deck in these new deluxe book boxes. You can hear and feel how the deck is moving around within the book box. I really hope that the deck itself wasn’t damaged during transit.

All of the KWP deluxe boxes do that, Tigers, Maduro, Verum Videre. But don't worry, the margins of the spaces are so small there's no room to bang. (OOF, that was an unintentional pun

)

Here is my best guess:
JoS: Friar Tuck
QoS: Maid Marion
KoS: Robin Hood
JoD: Sherrif of Nottingham
QoD: Prioress of Kirklees
KoD: King John
JoC: Will Scarlet
QoC: Clorinda
KoC: Little John
JoH: Richard I
QoH: Eleanor of Aquitaine
KoH: Alan-a-Dale
I could be 100% wrong tho

Robin Hood Jigsaw Puzzle, $35.00
Volume 3 of our Jigsaw Puzzles is the Robin Hood
Our third Jigsaw puzzle brings the artwork and beautiful gold foiling of the Robin Hood deck to this 1000 piece double-sided jigsaw puzzle.
The Robin Hood Jigsaw puzzle is 1000 pieces and measures 18" x 24". It is double-sided and features a second image on the reverse side to make our jigsaw puzzles even more enjoyable and in turn feature more of our artwork. The puzzle goer will find an enlarged version of the Robin Hood diptych joker.
We have also designed a stellar "book style" box with magnetic closures to store your Robin Hood. You will find a cotton zipper bag to hold the pieces and a double-sided larger 9 1/4" x 13 1/4" key card with both puzzle images on thick card stock inside the box.

The original was EPCC, but it sounds like he's not working with them anymore. I'm guessing a reprint will be done by the same printer he used for Mistborn, who he has yet to name.

Right, EPCC. Cool, cool. Is Mistborn out in hands yet or any other decks done by the, let's call them Jackson's foil printer = JFP? Someone made a review?

Could be just about anyone tbh. Robin Hood handling was traaash, won't take much to surpass EPCC.

Yeah, I have Mistborn. It looks phenomenal, but handles very poorly. Worse than EPCC IMO. Overall, I like them a lot, but you have to view them as an art deck.

Awesome, thanks for the update. I see every deck as an art deck, because it is an art of its own to make great (handling) cards. Everyone can print a nice picture on a piece of paper but not everyone can make great card art on nice handling cards.
I'll pick up the jigsaw puzzle then.

New Robin Hood launching in February.
Looks to be a mini deck, poker deck, and some tarot-sized cards?
