The Name of the Wind Art Deck with $630,300 in funding and 10 090 backers.

A bit over 8k shy of The Apothecary 2 and the 5th spot on the most funded list*
*Kickstarter does not display Albino Dragon's The Name of the Wind project on their most funded list for some reason, although that one is the 2nd most funded playing card project on Kickstarter history.
Edit: 5k short now

Just passed The Apothecary 2. Arcana is about 5k away.
Edit: About 2k away from Arcana

Weird that they would launch the gayest playing card project ever the day after gay pride month ended...

You are mistaken something, it is a pumpjack on the cards, not a d**k

Just passed Arcana. Next on the list is Mint 2 with $564,558, so they are not even close that number yet.

Why the f&*k anyone would buy these money-grab s&*t-stain decks is beyond me.
The vintage decks have "value" because of the unique manufacturing.
These are f&*king garbage reprints of a design that deepthroats major balls.
Why use these over Bee Titanium..? F&*k me people are stupid and will slurp anything that has an ounce of hype.

Glad you put value in quotation marks. Nobody gave a s**t about them, then end 90's remaining stock was purchased... boom... prices skyrocketed. I know, I know, unique piece of playing card history and praised by the Professor himself, but seriously ... $400 and more... not my cup of tea.

This campaign is running ~2,5 h right now with 215k, you can add another 50k for sure as soon as they make the "The Ultimate Collectible" tier available. (the carat case with an original JN)
It's kind of strange that the " The Vintage Feel Deck " is only available in Red, and the "LUXURY FOIL Deck" is only available in Blue....

I love reading all of the different perspectives on the new release of the Jerry's. TwoPiece, your shit is hilarious. Personally, I am scooping up some to go along with my vintage Jerry's, and, because I'm a collector, just to have a set. Its awesome to see the success, and despite all the hype, see newer collectors getting a chance to have these.

Production costs are lower if they only do one version. Plus they have a fix configuration for the 100 limited 5x cases. No further headache with who wants which decks in his case. Maybe this is their approach.

I thought they were using the JN finish on all the decks, not just an add on deck. So dumb if they want to make them "reprints". So dumb. Pass!

I am definitely with you in this one TwoPiece. Just looking at this deck irritates me, like all the other hype decks.

The stretch goals were 20k for the "vintage feel red" and 30k for the "foiled blue", with the huge success of having now 7 times the goal of the foiled version, production costs shoundn't matter anymore

So many Kickstarter noobs have pledged on this project the comments section is chaos with questions on how to do add-ons and such. One person even wrote her address in the comments asking the decks to be delivered there
I saw mike try to answer a few questions but it is just too chaotic.....

Someone record themselves rubbing a 70's JN deck on their naked body and send a copy of the video to her!

I don't pretend to speak for Bill, but I did volunteer to help him with his first KS campaign.
He never said specifically but I do remember him expressing that he had never crowd funded a deck. I imagine this might change his perspective a li'l.

Already at $230K. Insanity.
I will say that this is cool - the blue foil edition tuck will be printed with your name

I've been waiting for someone to do something like this, too bad I hate these
And the collector's set is interesting... includes a vintage deck. I hate the idea of sealing the carat case though, defeats the entire purpose

Do they realize the logistical hell that those personalized tucks are going to create? Sweet Baby Jesus...
I find JR's fulfillment to typically be excellent, and he couldn't match the Tally-Ho Legacy Editions, which were limited to just 50 each...
I sense some frustrated project leaders and customers in the near future...
I also 100% agree that sealing the carat case makes no sense...

Well, I am way late (as often is usual). $15 ($21 shipped) for two decks First Day deal? I'm in if nothing but to participate in the show. $35 for the foil deck seems a bit high, but I am in for that as well given I am such a sucker for foil. Definitely not going to try for one of those limited issue five deck sets. Easy pass. Not interested in bricks either, although the first day and EB prices aren't bad. Deal me in the low stakes game.

That's pretty much my reaction also. I went in for a set, an uncut sheet and a gaff deck.
From a collector's standpoint I understand the case being sealed. 1. It's a point for inflation, and 2. For those that insure their collections, it makes it easier to underwrite.

Jackson could do that now with his fulfillment posse. For his Americana series, he is even trying to match the limited decks so the numbers will match participating subscriber's numbers. But, he has a dedicated fulfillment team. That is unique in this business, but it is a business model that sets him apart.
That said, I agree that personalized tucks will be a logistics nightmare on so many levels. I did get a personalized tuck label earlier (mine was "Darth Vader"), but that was a really small issue and just decks. RJ Tomlinson did unique tuck seals for his Apollo 11 decks recently, but I think the decks were handed out randomly.

If I have one nice thing to say about this, the 5 deck sealed carat case with original JNs is "only" $495, or roughly the price of a deck of vintage JNs. So basically a carat and 4 campaign decks free if you're in the market for the real thing.

I gotta agree. This is going to be a train wreck at 1000 units.
