Oh thats terrible, you should absolutely tell hopc. I think the equipment at uspcc has difficulty dealing with thick tuck stocks, something similar happened to the black origins deck

UGH, but how did those not get caught in USPCC QC and then also by fullfillment. Such a pain to have to get replacements, especially for the most expensive deck. Hope mine (if I ever get them) are ok.

Exactly what I'm wondering also. My guess is that these were put inside the pack jackets manually and therefore should have been spotted. Out of 6 Obsidian decks I received half like thisStrag wrote:UGH, but how did those not get caught in USPCC QC and then also by fullfillment. Sorry about the quality of the Decks Slavich. Please send a PM to the HOPC Kickstarter account and we'll get replacements out to you. I asked for 36 of each Obsidian Deck for my personal use. Some of the Unbranded Obsidians I recieved have bottom glue issues. Not nearly as bad as yours, but I think USPCC didn't do a very good job with the quality control on the Unbranded Obsidians.
thanks, Randy

To back up what Randy said - anyone should always feel free to let us know if a bad deck slips past USPCC and fulfillment. PM us through KS or send an email to HOPC, and we will get replacements taken care of ASAP.

I know how you feel Strag. Still waiting on mine as well. I thought for sure mine would come early because I only had a Branded set and and Obsidian set. Whoever said the chase is better than the catch surely wasn't a card collector.Strag wrote:UGH, but how did those not get caught in USPCC QC and then also by fullfillment. That being said, I'm glad randy and reylek are readily available to help fix the problem, kudos to them.

Kevin and I are just as upset as everyone else at how long the White ORNATES took to go out. Internally, we've actually had to push back the HOPC release at least three times in the past few weeks. The fulfillment center / warehouse kept giving us the "we'll be finished any day now" response for weeks!
Thanks, Randy

My obsidians arrived ok - one or two bashed corners in the rest - but bottom corners so I can work around that lol.

Yesterday i have received a padded envelope from TheBlueCrown.
It had a unfolded BrickBox inside together with a bit of cardboard and bubble wrap to protect it but no replacement decks for my damaged decks.
(guess those will be send seperately)
Anyways the brick box wasnt glued together and came instantly apart

Very annyoing!!! I mean when you send a REPLACEMENT out you do check that the item you are sending out is 100% correct or do i expect too much?!

Hey Coamicsecret,
I'm sorry for the unglued Brick. They're REALLY making me nervous with the way the fulfillment center is handling things!! I'm guessing the Decks are in a separate package. They sent all of the Empty Black Brick Box orders separated from Backers' Decks, in order to make sure they could ship flat and make it without damage (they must not have checked that the glue panel was secure for yours!!).
Please send a quick PM to the HOPC KS account and they'll get another one out.
Thanks, Randy

I'm really sorry about how shipment was handled, Randy. Although only 1 of my ornates survived intact the travel to Greece -packaging was almost non existent- I don't wish to add to your frustration so I don't want replacement
Your work on these decks was excellent!

Have to agree about the packaging - i had one badly crushed corner.
Decks wrapped in bubble wrap and tossed in bubble envelope might survive domestically, but might not do the job transitioning internationally (more opportunities the be chucked around).
The decks themselves are lovely though!

BMPokerworld used to send decks wrapped in bubble wrap and in padded envelopes (priority flatrate) and 99% of my decks arrived safe and unharmed.montecarlojoe wrote:Have to agree about the packaging - i had one badly crushed corner.

Randy, thanks for your fast reply. Well.. i will try to glue the brick box with double sided tape.
It´s just a dissapointment when you are waiting sooo long for those decks to arrive and then having trouble with your goods just because the guys who had packed the stuff messed up.

I wish I could say mine came in perfect, but they didn't. Nothing too bad though, most of the corners of the brick box got dinged a fair amount. But all the decks were fine, so I can live with that. I'm 1 Black Unbranded short though, so I'll wait until the black brick box comes in before I send a PM to HOPC about it.
I'm guessing somebody's considering switching fulfillment centers now, eh?

Oh man. I have the worst luck with receiving decks in pristine condition (even with UUSI/Kings Wild level packaging), so I really don't fancy my chances with the Ornate decks

Please let me again offer my apologies again to anyone who received damaged items, or who's stuff took too long to arrive.
As many know, we don't own our warehouse, but instead use a fulfillment center like many other companies around the world. The warehouse has a dedicated "magic" team that serves us, as well as a few other companies.
I've been in constant contact with them throughout the campaign regarding how important it is to us that ALL orders get extremely well-packed and protected.
The vast majority of feedback we've been receiving has illustrated that the orders are being packed well and items are arriving safely. Clearly though, that has not happened on all orders. Even if 99% of orders are fine, that's not good enough for me. I'm constantly in touch with the warehouse and pushing them to make everything more damage-proof. We've seen some examples where you'd think a package could survive a bomb, but somehow decks can still get damaged.
I do also have to say that I have personally shopped with every major card company and supported many KS deck campaigns, and have also received damaged decks from just about all of them, even when things have been packed well. Decks are fragile by nature, and I think sometimes there's just no avoiding damage. I'm certainly not making excuses, just saying that I have seen some VERY well-packed decks sustain surprising damage over the years.
In a vast majority of cases, all of our packages (and those of other decks sellers) arrive in fantastic condition. For those that don't, PLEASE do not be shy about letting us know. We WANT you to get your items in great shape, and we do not make the replacement process difficult at all.
The best way to report damage is to include a photo or 2 of the damaged items off the bat, and provide a list saying that the damage consists of:
1 x Item A
1 x Item B
and so forth.
We're in this business because we love creating awesome decks, and of course we want everyone to be able to use them and display them proudly. So if you're unhappy with the condition of your package, that's something that we truly do want to know and will fix ASAP.
Thanks everyone!
Kevin

Thanks for the reply and explanation. I have an issue and have been in contact via the HOPC KS message board. I am collecting decks for a friend to send abroad and somehow his pledge got combined with mine so my pledge never came. It's an oddball issue and no one could foresee it. HOPC has been quick to respond and is correcting the issue so kudos for that.

Re: ORNATE Playing Cards: White Edition - KS funded $118k+
After reading all this I was quite worried.
Got my box today and have almost nothing but good things to say. Probably because my order was so large (I got 2 of each deck) it was packed in a large cardboard box with tons of bubble wrap and paper to cushion. After inspection, the only decks I can find problems with are (unfortunately) the black Ornates. All of them seem to be a little "off" with the sealing, but nothing so major that it's a huge issue. Shrink wrap on each of these appears to be a problem as well. The onyl one I have any significant issue with is a single Bicycle branded deck where the cello was applied so badly it's bascially not even covering one side (so it's not a properly "sealed" deck). Real shame on that one.
One thing I'm shocked no one has mentioned is how completely AWESOME the coins are. The colours are vibrant and they have an amazing design. Pics coming soon on the "Look what I added" thread.

2 of each deck and you got them shipped in a box!? I had a whole brick + 3 black decks and I only got bubble wrap inside a bubble envelopeStrag wrote:After reading all this I was quite worried.

2 of each deck = 20 decks (branded and unbranded plus 2 each of the obsidians) plus 3 coins. Yeah no idea why I got lucky with a box.MagikFingerz wrote:2 of each deck and you got them shipped in a box!? Re: ORNATE Playing Cards: White Edition - KS funded $118k+
Ah, well then it's more than me (forgot how many decks were in this campaign lol). Maybe I was just below the limit for boxes or something. The brick was in its brick box though, so you'd think that ought to warrant some cardboardStrag wrote: 2 of each deck = 20 decks (branded and unbranded plus 2 each of the obsidians) plus 3 coins. Yeah no idea why I got lucky with a box.

Yeah, I reckon you got very unlucky. I should note another positive was they only put $23 for declared value so no extra VAT payment either!MagikFingerz wrote:Ah, well then it's more than me (forgot how many decks were in this campaign lol). These are now available on HOPC.

I ordered the branded set. I'll pick up the other and the coins later.

I love when creators came here an lie on our face.
So one unbranded deck costs only $9.95 on the site in the KS page it was $12 (i know US postage included bla bla bla).... Now the thing that realy makes me hungry: shipping for 1 deck (HOPC site) $7.10 against $8 (KS page)... So as I mentioned over and over and over again, we internationals are paying double postage, we pay postage for US and international!! And thats the way to make money...
You should all check this project: Four Point Playing cards to learn how to calculate the right values for shipping!
Very glad I didn't pledged for the unbranded set on the ks page, now I can bought them on the HOPC site and save me a couple of dollars!! And since I haven't received my pledge, there was no realy advantage in pledging in the first place.
PS: I love your work Randy, but this isn't acceptable, at least in my view!

Yeah pledging for us Int customers is tricky. Most cases is cheaper for me to buy them from eu resellers.
In situations like this when you have no idea if this deck will be avaivable for us (non backers)(but they got like 115 000$, should make more decks so they should have many for sale) and for how long until is sold out and for what price (it can be higher) it is a big dilemma to pledge or wait and specially for big campaigns like this orders can go wrong or damaged or delayed etc. I decided to wait and placed my order last night cant resist so beautifull decks and price. Very well done.
For the shipping. Yes indeed. For a 12 decks i payed ~26.70$ Priority Envelope from HOPC site. On KS page it is 28 First Class... and some Kickstarter campaign says 35$ for First class brick
Maybe some hidden taxes or handling idk but so high lols.

Nope, basically it's easier for project creators to overcharge internationals and they justify it by the amount of extra paperwork they have to do. I think it's rather disgusting, especially when you can see direct comparisons to HOPC standard pricing and the KS pricing and KNOW FOR A FACT that Internationals were overcharged compared to US backers.AceOfHearts wrote:Yeah pledging for us Int customers is tricky. For the shipping. Yes indeed. I think because they charge handling/packaging and taxes for kickstarter or smth. Also the price there might be for Int Box, not an envelope. But it is strange. Right now, hopc/blue crown have lowest shipping rates probably in entire usa for decks. 12 decks is 26$ for PRIORITY envelope. ( and some Kickstarter campaign says 35$ for First class brick... Ornate KS project says 28 Firstclass)
