Well the back design is alright. Don't people ever realize decks like this don't do well?

the parrots are actually well drawn, but not as a deck, not as a deck

Yes, the art is rather beautiful! But agree with the others that this overall execution is not very appealing to me as a deck of cards. :(

Maybe, just maybe, that huge contingent of parrot aficionados at UnitedPsittacinists.com will provide a surge of support to fund this project. ;)
It does seem that the creator is being a little bit realistic with a non USPCC goal, and her reason for setting a high stretch goal for USPCC is pretty funny: "no room to store 2500 decks!"

@Pierre... have you noticed that little "kickup" button next to the "kickstarter" button?

If you use that instead, you get this cool gizmo (courtesy of MCJoe - Thanks Joe!):

I agree, the parrots are beautiful but this deck is more like a portfolio of art than playing cards.

...well the creator says:
cockatoos for the hearts, lories and lorikeets for the diamonds, conures for the clubs, and macaws for the spades
I wouldn't know a budgie from a bluebird.... these all look like "Parrots" to me!!!

I really like the art, and the back is really nice. And I love colorful decks! Starred it for now.

I know it's not very functional as a deck of cards (indices and suits are hard to make out), but I see it like an art deck such as the Ultimate Deck or Playing Arts.

Cockatoos are one of my favorite types of bird, purely because of the innuendo possibilities.

Me: Th4mo, you've been around a cockatoo, right?

Th4mo: Oh yes, I do enjoy a cockatoo.

Hey guys! I'm the artist for the deck and the creator of the kickstarter. Thank you all for your comments and critiques - I realize as an art deck the functionality is lower than other decks, but it is my first deck I ever designed, though I've been a participant in other collaborative art decks (the card back designer on the Bestiary, illustrated a couple of cards in the Wild Cats of the World, and illustrated a few cards for the Pathfinders animal tarot deck.)

This is also my first kickstarter ever, and I'm very much enjoying the process, and I'm amazed by how many people are talking about it! I have to admit, I don't think I've ever gotten this level of attention before! I'm really thankful for every comment, and I hope I can apply the critiques towards my next project.
