We are excited to announce that our Marked Bicycle Rider Backs are coming to Kickstarter on April 2! These are the first officially produced marked Bicycle Rider Back Playing Cards in almost a decade.
They are marked for suit and value, feature a subtle one-way back design, and include duplicate Jokers and a double-backer.
Multiple Early Bird deals will be available in the first 24 hours of the campaign. The best one is a brick (twelve decks) of Marked Bicycles for 95 EUR, which is less than 8 EUR per deck.
Interesting that USPCC is letting you do a Rider back. Like you said, they swore about 10 years ago that only Maiden backs can be customized from them on. Great job convincing them! I wonder if others will follow?
Yes 10yrs ago Magicdream were allowed to do one last run of their Rider back Ultimate Marked Deck
That is a long time ago and yet I just purchased another this year so it makes you wonder how much demand there is for marked Rider backs
No doubt Butterfly's will be way more concealed

Thank you!
Ondrej found a way to do this while complying with the USPC policy. He explains it in great detail in a video that's coming soon.

Thank you for the comment!
Magic Dream's Ultimate Marked Deck cannot really be considered a worker deck. If I remember correctly, the deck costs 40 USD. As mentioned in the post, our Marked Rider Backs will be much cheaper. We aim to make these magician's worker decks with great magic features and affordable prices.
Yes and no...the tuck and cards are the exact same, but Ondrej took 300 decks from the run and used a blue seal (with 'Framed by Butterfly Playing Cards' on it) instead of a black seal, which is what is being sold on Cartopia's web site.
A deck a day helps keep the addiction at bay!

As shermjack already mentioned, the ones at the Cardtopia site are the Black Seal decks from the first edition. There were only 1000 decks, mainly to test the marking system and its usability within the Rider Back design.
The new edition coming to Kickstarter will have the same marking system but will be printed on a different stock. It may have two gaff cards instead of just one, and it will be much more affordable, especially through the Early Bird deals.

So this is an already produced product? Why KS though?
The first edition of Marked Bicycle Rider Backs was released in November 2023 through an official collaboration with Bicycle Cards and the USPC. Only 1000 decks were printed, making them more of a collector item. We printed a limited number to test the marking system.
The new edition coming to Kickstarter will be printed on a different stock and will be much more affordable. We aim to make these a magician worker deck and to offer these to as many magicians as possible. That's why we're working on a new edition.

I hope this helps!

IF ONLY I KNOW, I won’t open the deck which was sold on the webstore last time

What's the reason for changing the stock?
As the first edition was a collaboration with Bicycle Cards, we could score an exemption and print Bicycle Rider Backs on a Premium stock. Usually, USPC policy lets people print Rider Backs only on the Bicycle stock.
And as the Kickstarter campaign is our solo project, we will use the Bicycle stock this time.
We've found a way to mark the iconic Rider Back design without violating the United States Playing Card Company's policy or infringing the Bicycle Rider Back trademark.
Are Bicycle OK with this?

Yes! We've printed the first edition in collaboration with them. In a video we will release soon, Ondrej explains how the Marked Bicycle Rider Backs came to life.
Our Kickstarter campaign for the Marked Bicycle Rider Back Playing Cards just launched!
There are special Early Bird deals available during the first 24 hours.
You can get up to six decks for 10 EUR per deck. The best deal comes with the twelve-deck Early Bird. It is available for just 95 EUR, less than 8 EUR per deck.
What do the cards offer?
- A marking system in all four corners.
- A subtle one-way back design.
- A double-backer.
- Duplicate black and white Bicycle Jokers.
Pavel,
Your posts are always most informational. Reading the campaign's page was very enlightening with differences between the different batches so far.

What seal (if any) will these KS decks have?
Thanks,
George
Thank you very much, George!
As far as I know, the seal, if any, will be up to the backers.

We filmed a campaign trailer in which Ondrej talks more about the cards. The trailer now has French, Spanish, and German subtitles.
Great trailer. Can see Ondrej and the Butterfly team had so much fun with it. This is a great deck and shows that USPCC is continuing the trend of working with designers. I just wish you had continued to use Cardvo for the Asian shipping like you did with the Butterfly workers. (That is, if the relationship worked out well).
The biggest block for me is the shipping costs more than 2 early bird decks to South East Asia! I know this is totally beyond your control. At least the EU backers FINALLY get more reasonable shipping and tax costs.

Keep making magic!
Thank you so much, Eric! We indeed had a lot of fun shooting the trailer.
Working with Cardvo was excellent, as always before. We decided to ship everything from Prague to prevent shipping fees to the fulfillment centers. Unfortunately, sending the cards out to the three fulfillment centers for the Butterfly Workers campaign was more expensive than we anticipated.
I know there are many magicians in your region. Could you maybe share a pledge with some to split the shipping cost?
