OK, I’ll play, but to elevate the game beyond the schoolyard, each post has to have an opinion in it, how’s that ?

Here’s my next go:

For a discussion forum, there sure are a lot of members who don’t seem to want to participate in a discussion.
Stop seemingly attacking people for openly saying what this is:

A piece of s&*t.

You keep retorting to every post criticizing this POS. Keep your criticism to the deck itself.

Amateur Mod Tom already conveyed this...

ALR wrote:This thread is back at the top of the UC index board, thus improving its visibility to the card collecting world (however minutely) and fulfilling the promotion and marketing wishes of it’s creator.

At the moment, this deck is just a few hundred dollars away from hitting its first stretch goal. By expressing your distaste and disdain for this deck, you and Sarcasm Boy have inadvertently helped promote it.

Is that an aspect of card collecting worth discussing ?
I don't want to chime in because of a fairly simple reason: nothing is worth discussing on this deck.

And no, despite being the one posting this deck on this forum, boosting this thread up on the top of this forum does not translate to more followers or more promotion for this deck. So before you comment on the marketing tactics around here, there IS NO marketing tactics around here. Get to know how this forum works: it's a place for all kinds of criticism, positive and negative. Most of the times the post that are solely for marketing purposes get drowned out pretty quickly and the most controversial ones stay on top the most.

You can't be serious to think that UC visibility for any deck contributes to its sales numbers, do you?

Not this deck though!
You want to reclaim your mind and get it out of the hands of the cultural engineers who want to turn you into a half-baked moron consuming all this trash that’s being manufactured out of the bones of a dying world.

I've seen some people go, "I never saw this thread! I'll have to get one", to some mediocre and poop decks. So, UC visibility might contribute to about $10 profit.

Isn't someone's signature, "UC has revolutionized the way I waste money", or something like that?

Wait a minute - I think it references Kickstarter instead.

Not the best time to be a Bicycle branded deck collector these days.

Good thing I collect almost exclusively non-branded decks.

Educated guess says maybe 30 branded decks in my collection? T11 Titanium, JR's Tally-Hos, USPCC's prototype and production MetalLuxe are all that I can think of.

Thanks again for all of the support for the Black and White Bicycle Insignia Playing Cards. We are back again but with revolutionary colors. Red and Blue are now up over on Kickstarter.

I really don't understand why this deck has to go through Kickstarter since the start; isn't the design already "Bicycle" enough to be directly printed by them? Or is it just for the publicity?

You pay for the privilege of putting Bicycle branding on your deck. You still have to pay for printing the deck. They're not doing any favors except allowing you to leverage the bicycle name as a badge of quality, I guess.

My useless contribution to this thread -

Capitalism does not mean 'making and selling stuff'. It could be argued that it does involve making and selling crap that people don't need, but please don't suggest that capitalism is necessary for things to be made and sold.

Secondly, assuming everybody wants a Ferrari is incredibly childish and close-minded. For me they're pieces of crap, and the windows squeak when you roll em down. You'd have to be one evil sunnuvabitch to justify spending that amount of money on a car.

Thirdly anyone can add Bicycle branding to a Bicycle printed deck, they just charge a few bucks extra for it per deck. Presumably it comes with some constraints on the content, but apparently not artistic ones.

Ehm, nope. Liking a certain Italian sports car has nothing to do with being evil. I am more in the Lamborghini camp though. Countach for the win.

I thought you were an anarchist

Anyway, that's as political as I'm comfortable getting on UC. Just wanted to chime in and say that making cards does not make us capitalists. If anything the opposite... but that's a long story for another time.

Back to the deck :D
