Illusion d'Optique Cards by Art Of Play/Gianni Sarcone

Unread post by vasta41 »

Illusion d’Optique is the most jaw-dropping collection of optical illusion playing cards ever assembled. Housed in a wild, rainbow-sheen holographic tuck-case, you may feel like you're hallucinating before you even open up the box.

Inside, you’ll find 54 eye-popping original designs created by a master of visual perception, Gianni Sarcone. Watch closely as colors change, shapes transform and static, printed ink seems to come alive. Saracone has included updated versions of classic illusions, plus innovative new concepts he developed after years of study.

Illusion d’Optique is not only a beautiful deck, but it also serves as fascinating proof that seeing is not necessarily believing.

Printed by The United States Playing Card Company on our trademark thin-stock preferred by magicians and cardists.

I also think this is pretty cool. And considering the printer, the tuck, and the work that went into this $18 is a good price IMO. I'm holding out until some Black Friday deals come out (hopefully).

Same.

This is kinda like a combo between the Ultimate Deck and a transformation deck. It's unique and I seriously love it.

The back design is really the only possible point of criticism IMO.

I'm in, even if it's only for the curio factor. Really like these.

Somebody please tell me if I like these or not. The number cards are great but I hate the courts.

With a deck like this I personally wouldn't get too hung up on courts. While this deck is technically playable it's meant to be more of an art piece. The corner indices and attention to pip numbers amidst the opart is good enough for me to accept this art form depicted in this deck. But hey! To each his own...

Just checked inventory...over 6,800 decks, so I think we are good to wait until Black Friday ;)

The Bucks (and all of the other big co.'s) never hesitate to call a deck "limited" even if the print run is 2,500 and I think even 5,000 in some cases. But I figured there would be a lot of these when they consciously omitted the word "limited" from their description.

I really hope this deck comes with one of those transparent & black-striped plastic sheets that, when moved over a particularly designed image on a card, would create the optical illusion of animation/motion:

Those were always my favorite lol :geek: :ugthink:

Looking closely it seems like the words and back (with four cards) on the tuck are printed on a clear plastic sleeve! :D There are also photos of both sides of the tuck with no words at all, just the cool holo design

FYI, there is an Illusion d'Optique uncut available, you just have to write to AoP directly and they will send you an invoice for 30 for the uncut plus shipping (8.40 for me). I am pretty happy about it and look forward to getting the uncut. HSBC, if you write to them, ask about the Art & Machine uncut, they just might have one. ;)

Ooh. Well, maybe I will get lucky: I pulled the trigger on AoP’s mystery uncut decks x2 last week, which is already in shipment... fingers crossed...
