if this gets backed, I am going into card design. im no artist or graphics designer but I am sure I could probably make something better with MS Paint over lunch here at work.

Someone's in a bad mood today
I'm in a "bad mood" every day. I'm sick of crappy decks being "designed" and I'm sick of not being able to buy Batman: Damned because of the same type of idiots that buy Lotrek decks just to price gouge on eBay.

This is a pretty blatant knock off of the Wynn Casino decks. And as such, these will probably sell since the market for iconic casino knock off decks is pretty robust. Even the "black rose" color seems very similar to the brown Wynns, at least on my monitor. I love how they say they love limited decks, so naturally they're going to print a whopping 2500 decks. It may have been more interesting if they somehow snuck marijuana references into an otherwise classic casino deck design given the name of the deck.
I theorize that this deck has been named 'LIT' to encourage people to use it for its intended purpose; to be lit on fire and immediately tossed into the nearest dumpster where it aptly belongs... just my working theory at the moment though lol
it is utterly incomprehensible to me how, after only ≈48hrs, this project is almost funded?!?! like WHAT?!? HOW?!? WHY?!? WHO ARE THESE BACKERS?!? I have so many questions and I NEED answers!!

Funded. Time to embark on your new side-gig of playing card design!
I've seen some great decks which truly needed to be made not reach funding, and then I see a deck like this do it without breaking a sweat, and it's a damn tragedy.

People knocked off the Jerry's Nuggets deck, Golden Nuggets deck, Dunes Casino deck, and Silver Slippers deck, and they all sold well. It shouldn't be a mystery or a surprise that the Wynn deck would be knocked off and sell well. Brown Wynns used to go for $100 on ebay and they're getting harder to find in new, sealed condition. I know, call out the lack of imagination and creativity all you want, but the bottom line is there is a market for people who don't mind getting obvious imitations of vintage casino playing cards. If you don't want to shell out a couple thousand dollars for a Dunes deck, or $800+ for JNs, then I guess getting a knock off is an acceptable consolation. I don't get it and I don't buy them, but it is what it is.
As the designer of this deck I must say, this deck is not for everyone and the target audience isn't collectors. The target audience is those who use the cards such as cardists, magicians and gambling demonstrators. The cards have a Wynn look to them but the stock is completely different. For those of us who like the casino look on a premium crushed stock that has been traditionally cut we have very few options available. The alternative is to create a casino deck. These decks are popular among the target audience which shows by the supporters that we have.

Thank you for the support,

I still hate it, but I commend you for not 'flipping the table' in response to the negative feedback. We can definitely use more level-headed new creators like you here (and abroad).

I’m going to send all of you a deck on the house. Believe it or not when posts were made here good or bad... Ok BAD. PLEDGES WENT UP. Two Piece , I will even autograph yours. . Seriously you guys are great even if you aren’t too fond of my deck.
I dont mind this deck as much as most of you guys seem to. I think its a clean looking poker/casino deck. The success does not surprise me at all, people like to have a clean crisp looking deck to play poker with and this fits the bill.
That said, I did not back it as even if I like it generally I do not like it enough to justify paying twice as much as I would for other kickstarter USPCC decks (if you add shipping this one costs quite a bit). A deck being this plain isnt necessarily bad but it does not justify the price tag that a deck with custom artwork or fancy tucks do. It ought to be cheaper infact like the NOC's line of decks which I think is the most comparable deck I can think of, which also is unsurprisingly popular but not so well received here where we love custom everything (which from the point of view of people who already own hundreds of decks makes sense).
P.S totally did not just post this now in hopes of getting a free deck from this friendly man who created the campaign.
I think this deck is ok, but I like casino style decks. Though I do agree with JuFiN that the price is a little to high for me to consider backing it, especially with all the other decks that have come out recently.
There are quite a few designers that release absolutely beautiful decks that are completely custom, so I can understand why some people aren't fond of simple decks like this one.

I'll take it! (Then flip it on eBay for $900...)
