Yes, any pledges for full SE or LE sets from previous planet campaigns will be merged into the same BackerKit account after Neptune ends so you'll be able to add on any extras that are available during Neptune.

davegk wrote:Hey guys,

There was a lot of thought/consideration behind the decisions around the Pluto deck. Ultimately, I thought the mini deck made perfect sense since Pluto isn't technically considered to be a full size planet anymore. As for the tuck decision, there are a few reasons why I landed on the blue paper sealed version...
- There are only 8 colors of holographic metallic foil available from the foil company so if I matched the SE decks, we would have to repeat one of the colors already used.
- I wanted Pluto to be a special add-on and didn't want anyone to feel obligated to purchase 2 different versions of the Pluto deck so it didn't make sense to do both a LE and SE version.
- This is the same reasoning behind not offering both mini and standard size decks. Plus the holographic printing from MPC looks super cool...I think you're gonna like it!
Hi David,

I completely respect your decision on why you did what you did, and hope everyone here will as well! Pluto deck still looks very stunning, especially with the holographic printing!

Now... just patiently waiting for the rest of the surprise add-ons that you have in store for us...

I can remember when Mercury was on the deck drafting board and I was so excited by the design and concept. At the time I thought: "Risky! What will happen to full-set pledgers if this peters out after the first or second deck and the series is never completed?" I'm thrilled that that never came to pass and that you guys have delivered one of the best playing card deck series I've ever seen. What a feat of planning, design, marketing, and execution—congratulations!

Thanks so much! You have no idea how much time/thought went into the planning and logistics of this entire project...definitely the most epic-scaled project I've tackled by far.

David - let me also add my thanks fo everyone here. You ran an amazing campaign (or rather 8 of them). I admit that when the Mercury deck was announced, I was sort of sceptical but your decks and the series grew on me, I was impressed with the quality and thought that went into it and now I am very happy to have two full LE and SE sets. Please release the carat case for the 8 decks (although in between your campaign, Lotrek and Jackson Robinson, I am all but tapped out)... :D

I would like to chime in with the others to say that you have run some of the best KS campaigns for playing cards ever! The speed in which you launched each deck, printed them and then shipped them has been almost flawless. Even when you encountered a hiccup in the first campaign with your problematic tucks, you took it in stride and took care of your backers. On top of that, these decks are awesome works of art in every aspect! The series will definitely be featured prominently in the DOTY 2018 awards, I am sure. :ugdance:

Can't wait to complete the set! Thanks, David! :D

shermjack,

So, would the series count as one deck, or could we stack the nominees with 8 different decks? :ugthink:

Or, would we have to choose only one? One planet to rule them all...

I honestly don't know, guess it depends on the category you will be selecting it/them for...for me, this definitely is the top contender for the best series of 2018 :D

I'm iffy about the Pluto deck, I'm fine with the first 8 standard decks.

I agree it is definitely not for everyone. However, a lot of people (including me) were asking for it. The fact that it is a mini-deck and printed slightly differently lets it stand a part a little, so it doesn't become have "have to" deck to complete your set.

I like it. It is so dang cute. Not practical for anything, but cute. A nice side piece to an already huge set.

I'm VERY impressed that it's screenprinted, and the price is downright cheap for a five-color print -- I just wish it were on dark paper instead of white....

I usually refrain from buying "uncut sheets" for the same reason, but I think my arm is twisting as we speak... Here's to spending more on Neptune addons than I have in the campaign to date.

Dave - For those who pledged for the LE1 Tier, and added-on a Pluto deck, will you be matching the Pluto serial number to that series number?

I don't use poker chips but like the idea. I might make use of them somehow.

I read in the comments he can't be sure if he can guarantee matching LE Pluto's to other LE pledges.

I would spring for the chips if they’d have betting values on them. I understand not wanting the values on the face/reverse, given the design that’s been done. But surely values could be placed on the chip edges, as is very commonly done. Without this, they are really more trouble than they’re worth for game play.

That's an interesting take.

The group I have played tournament poker with the most here in the Seattle area has a large collection of chips that do *not* have the denominations printed on them; rather, we go by color, and as the evening progresses and the blinds raise, we occasionally "chip up" by turning in lower value chips for higher value chips. By using this method, if we wanted to play a $20 buy-in game, the Yellow chips might be designated as a quarter dollar, but if we're playing a $100 buy-in game, we might start off with yellows being a buck or so. We have far more yellow chips than the next color up, and so yellow will always be the lowest value at the beginning of the game, but that value is determined by the buy-in, not by what is printed on the chip itself.

I like it that way, but your mileage may vary. :)

I would really like a solid "Yes" or "No" from Dave prior to the end of this campaign.

I don't have any interest in mini decks, but if the Pluto add-on would match my full LE set, I have no problems throwing $20 towards a great campaign to complete the solar system. I also have no problems with him saying that it would be too difficult. I'd just like a commitment one way or the other.

I want a full set of the chips, but I already have a really nice set of chips. I might just get the one-of-each collector's set.

I am really hoping the last add-on is a Carat Case X8 for the set.

The likelihood of us actually defecating those chickens is close-to-impossible. I don't think that Dave would do that to us.
