Re: deck question

... I have been practicing with the decks I own. From standard Bikes to KS decks. Some work better than others. Right now I prefer the Bee stock as they hold up longer. What decks do you folks use and like? For many years I only used Bikes or Bees. Over the last 6 months, I've experimented with a n...

Re: "Show me a trick!"

Hi Cardists! Been away from my computer for the last few weeks, so I'm a bit late to this thread! I just wanted to share my 'show me a trick' trick with you all. As far as I know, it's original, although similar to many others ... Ask the spectator to select a card and show it to the other spectator...

Re: SWTWC Part 5: Venexiana Gold - live on KS Wednesday!

Bet ya a 100 bucks that you would have gotten one if they were still available, If you had the available funds obviously. ... Never! I didn't pledge because I was sure the price was a mis-print. I just find it funny that many posters say that their hobby has put them in the poorhouse, then they jum...

Re: SWTWC Part 5: Venexiana Gold - live on KS Wednesday!

Was just on the Kickstarter page ...

Am I reading it right ? 100 bucks for a deck??? Is it real gold?

Looks like they're all gone ... makes my decision even easier !!

Re: Intro tricks in performance

By a 'hammer' I just mean a killer effect to end on ... one that leaves them wanting more, maybe like a torn / restored card! Haven't tried the Ellusionist gaffs ... their stuff always seems too pricey! You reminded me that I have an invisible deck someone gave me. I never actually looked to see how...

They seem to have the proportions of the old flip-top cigarette packages ...

Re: Intro tricks in performance

Hi Leadeye! Like you, I'm trying to put together a sequence of effects that includes some variety and an appropriate 'build-up'. Some 'unbelievability' would be good too! I'm aiming for a much shorter routine, maybe 10 or 15 minutes max ... 30 minutes is a LOOONG card performance - I'm not good enou...

Interlace is the theme of the deck - kind of a 'weaving' pattern. Looks cool!

Maybe Bicycle will allow it's logo to be altered to suit the design ... ? That would be a first!

... Just a Newbie guess!

Hey oojanhua! There are many methods. This one works ... http://www.thebrothersgraham.com/loading.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; In the photos, they drill out the 1 to roll 6s. The strongest loading using this method, though, is 'Dead Aces': drilling and loading the 6 ...

Re: Anyone know where to get gaffed die

Hey guys!

Although these links point to so-called 'loaded' dice, they are actually only misspots (ie. duplicate sides, not weighted). I guess it depends what you meant by 'loaded'. It seems true loaded dice are harder to find! I only found instructions for making them.

Roll on!

Re: Kings Wild Project - National Pastime Baseball Deck

I love baseball and I love JR, but these decks don't excite me. The design is too spare and abstract for a gritty game like baseball. Also, each deck is basically monochrome. You actually have to look quite closely to see that the decks have anything to do with baseball. And what's with the red, whi...

Re: Hello! From Toronto

Welcome fellow Canuck! I just joined yesterday myself! I like collecting and magic. I guess I do some cardistry too, but the term is new for me. When I started working with cards, flourishes were just an adjunct to magic, though I always loved doing them! It's interesting to see how cardistry has ev...

Re: Bicycle Classic Monsters Playing Cards (KS)

Also, I don't think Godzilla is public domain... You're right, Godzillian, and Toho Studios is fiercely protective of its copyright ... There are hundreds of millions at stake! This actually leads to my question that maybe someone can answer ... How does copyright work with cards? I mean, Classic M...

Re: A Sad time...

I feel your pain! :( I've cut back quite a bit too, but mainly because my tastes are evolving and I'm becoming a bit more selective. As far as money goes, I rationalize it this way ... I finally quit smoking two years ago. A pack of cards is still way cheaper than a pack of cigarettes (at least here...

Re: Cult Movie Cards (KS)

I was going to pledge on this even though the back design is really bad ... Actually, the fine print says that the pictured back design is NOT the design for the finished deck - it was just part of some other promotion. The actual backs have not even been designed yet! The whole campaign strikes me...

Wow!

Thanks to everyone for the warm greetings on my first day as a UC member!

Hey CBJ! Good to meet another Canuck!

... I live in Kitchener, or K-town, as I call it! Looks like Canada is well-represented in UC ... and why not? Did we not give Dai Vernon to the world?

Greetings from a Canadian Cardist!

Hi everyone! I`ve been checking out posts for a few weeks, so thought it might be time to sign up! My name is Scott Kruse (rhymes with `booze` ;) ) and I live about 1 hour from Toronto. I`m a 46 year-old high-school teacher. I`ve been doing card magic as a hobby, off and on, for about 20 years. Rece...
