Re: Strigiformes: A Deck of Owls on Kickstarter
Hey guys! Artist here - glad you like the project and allow me to clear up some thoughts on the printer and goal. I hope this is okay to talk about. My budget is carefully planned out, and going with MPC my costs are: $1000 for kickstarter fees $3750 for printing cards and brick boxes + shipping $27...

Re: ALPHA Deck: The First Playing Card Project Made In Italy
Hey Valerio, welcome! Minimalist design can be very tricky. There is always a line where it can be TOO minimal. Personally, I find the cards with the layout lines considerably more attractive than final design. I like the cards Eoghann put up as well (presumably your video, I haven't watched it yet...

Re: Strigiformes - an owl deck
I believe that's how I'm going to do it - I'm still researching and thinking on what I'll do for the other suits.MagikFingerz wrote:I know someone who has lots of owl stuff who would love this deck!
So will the owls of the other suits (hearts, diamonds, clubs) carry different types of swords?

Re: Strigiformes - an owl deck
Pretty interesting illustrations! What's the idea behind the swords? Does the indicate the suit? Oh yeah! It indicates suit and there's a little cartomancy symbolism in there as well (same reason the Ace owl is holding a skull.) The swords are scimitars because those blades are meant to be used in ...

Strigiformes - an owl deck
Okay, so my kickstarter for my parrot deck is doing well, but I realize it's not even remotely traditional, and I've gotten interested in trying to do a more functional design now. So I've been fooling around with owls. I've gotten some good feedback on the playing card forum and I thought I show th...

Re: Pocono Modern Playing Cards - UPDATE
I wanted to thank you all again for the feedback and the support - we are definitely taking it all to heart and are going to be coming up with new designs for the BACK of the card which don't have any text. We are going to develop three or four designs and then let the backers vote - I am going to ...

Re: Clipped Wings - March 20 at 12:57pm EDT on KS
Less than a day and already almost halfway there - that's fantastic! I'm in for two and I wish I could get an uncut sheet, but I have no room in my house, almost literally (and it's going to get even worse once my own kickstarter ends and I have 500+ decks filtering through!)

Re: Parrots of the World Playing Cards (KS)
Hey guys! I'm the artist for the deck and the creator of the kickstarter. Thank you all for your comments and critiques - I realize as an art deck the functionality is lower than other decks, but it is my first deck I ever designed, though I've been a participant in other collaborative art decks (th...
