Re: River Rats - opinions on card design welcome!

I'm a sucker for blue and yellow. I mentioned previously that my high school mascot were the River Rats. My school was in Ann Arbor, MI, which is also home to the University of Michigan, whose colors are maize and blue. I'd definitely buy the deck if it ends up with this color scheme; I may even bu...

Re: River Rats - opinions on card design welcome!

The back is only ok IMO - the rats are meh. I think that maybe a fairly simple 2 way pattern back would do - with or without rats (ps - not a fan of red and yellow) Thanks a lot for taking the time to share your thoughts! I've made some adjustments to the back, and made it completely symmetrical (w...

Re: River Rats - opinions on card design welcome!

I've got an update to share. The box design is pretty much done and the cards as well. I am keen to receive feedback on the back of the cards :) https://riverratscardgame.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/box_with_shadow.jpg Back in Red: https://riverratscardgame.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/back-red...

Re: Pixel Kingdom playing cards - Sapphire Blue Edition

Looks really nice. I think the KS page looks good as well :)

Does WJPC provide prototypes of the cards at additional costs or is this a standard thing they offer?

European card manufacturers and their card quality

Hi everyone, I am looking for the best manufacturer for my upcoming custom deck. I'm planning to print between 1,000-5,000 units. I was wondering if anyone had experience with Noir Arts, Fabryka Kart, Friedmann Print, Piatnik, ASS Altenburger, Fournier, Dal Negro or Modiano in terms of printing cust...

Re: River Rats - opinions on card design welcome!

I always find it difficult to judge sketches, so I also wanted to share my first fully worked out piece of artwork. What do you think?

Re: River Rats - opinions on card design welcome!

I am not sure they are my thing but I too think that the sketches look promising. I must be missing something as I don't understand how the 8oS is any different from the others I think the game rules might be the hardest to sell That's fair and I am happy you think the sketches have something goign...

Thanks!! That's exactly what I thought. So the 8 of hearts was the second attempt and iteration. I think I'll stick with that.
Glad you like the sketches thus far :)

River Rats - opinions on card design welcome!

Hey everyone, I'm working on a game which can be played with a traditional deck of cards. The name will be River Rats. River Rats is a strategic hand management game set aboard a luxurious futuristic riverboat. The Rich Rats are the upper-class guests who like to amuse themselves by forcing the crew...

Re: Hello! Just started working on my first card deck

Thanks for the warm welcome and sharing your favourite cards or decks.

The Heretic deck is really beautiful, looks so classy.
The Deutche Karten seems really old. Since it's old spelling, pretty cool.
And the Japanese one is just a work of art.

Many thanks!!

Hello! Just started working on my first card deck

Hi everyone! I just found this forum, which is amazing. Wish I had found it much earlier. Back in the days, I used to dabble with card magic (both MtG and actual sleight of hand card magic). I ordered a large quantity of Bicycle and Bee decks from the US (they were very expensive in Europe those day...
