Two cardists from New York: Leo Flores and Nathan Stichter, come together to create their own cardistry brand in 2020. It is named "MISSING", and the concept for their cards are simply... "missing" elements. Although, not everytime some elements are missing, yet they would have very interesting concepts: such as horizontal orientation cards, all different backs, overlapping pips, etc. Most artworks for their cards are abstract arts: from scanned traditional artworks to digital renderings. Every edition of their decks are printed 1000 decks only - while their releases are not frequent, they care for quality over quantity. The tuck box for their cards are iconic: the graphics on the cards are shown on the sides instead of the front and back which are for showing the title of the deck and the ad info of the brand (hence people would say: "The box is 'missing' the artworks on the front and back."). Not only they are releasing cardistry decks, but they are also releasing clothing apparels that matches with the deck. MISSING invites to embark on a journey to explore the "missing" elements of traditional playing cards.
Brief Deck Descriptions
All decks are printed with United States Playing Cards Co. (USPCC) on Classic/Premium Crushed Stock & Air Cushion. ARTICLE Playing Cards is using Smooth Finish. HOLY Playing Cards is made with Legends Playing Cards Co. (LPCC) on Diamond Finish. FONTAINE COLLAGE and Playing Cards are made with Wanjing Printing Co. (WJPC). Every deck is only 1000 prints made (with exception of COBWEB, which is 1250 prints + it's glow-in-the-dark variant for 250 prints).

- THERMAL = Created using moments captured with a thermal camera in New York City
- DATABEND = Created by manipulating images with an audio editor. There are 12 Editions in total, released non-sequentially

- GESTURE = In collaboration with Adam Phong - artwork painted using oil on canvas and embellished by adhering collage onto its surface
- ANALOG = In collaboration with COLORSHIFT - images were created using a VCR, an analog video mixer, and modulated feedback loops; Horizontal orientation playing cards
- PIGMENT = Created with an inkjet printer, a scanner, and 112 blank playing cards; Featuring metallic silver ink
- INFRARED - PHILADELPHIA = Created using moments captured with an infrared camera in Philadelphia
- HOLY = Featuring precision die-cut holes
- FONTAINE COLLAGE = In collaboration with Fontaine Cards - Created with a tape gun, a scanner, and 35 pieces of paper
- COBWEB = Featuring Halloween-inspired illustrations. It has a special variant - GLOW IN THE DARK.
Collaborations
Missing has been collaborating with a few visual artists. In 2023, Missing collaborates with another cardistry brand - Fontaine.
- Adam Phong: Artist from Malaysia who works across drawing, sculpture, and installation. He does the painting of hands and feets for the cards.
- COLORSHIFT: Artist Matthew Brown - he has been making abstract artworks using clandestine analog multimedia lab; using digital devices to create artworks.
- Fontaine: Hype cardistry brand created by Zach Mueller, known for their cards featuring double Fs with variety of background. Collab deck results in first MISSING deck which tuck box feature back design on the back of the box.
