So a 52 card deck, designed by Dustin Panzino. Limited to 150 decks, card surface is full on holographic. The artwork is incredible. According to the artists Instagram there is a second printing made, with a few changes design wise. The first printing was made in August of 2018 and the second printing was sold only on the 10th of March 2019.

Thanks to Jock1971 on letting me know about this deck!

Thanks for sharing this, Roope. I sent Dustin a message on IG, asking him where I can find some of these. I also highly encouraged him to do a v3 on Kickstarter so he could print with Cartamundi. Can you imagine that foil and a fantastic card stock?! It looks like his previous version doesn't have a custom tuck, so I am hoping he pokes his head in here and floats the idea of a v3 campaign. Just incredible.

Here is a link to his Etsy page for Inkwell Illustrations:

And his IG profile:

Let's flood his inbox with requests for a v3 KS campaign! :)

Update: I got a response from Dustin. He told me he is definitely out of stock of the V2s and the V1s but he has been seriously considering a new deck that would be a big improvement as a V3. I nudged him to come find us when he has things ready for show-and-tell :)

Jock1971, awesome find. Thank you.

After staring on the beautiful pictures for quite a time, there is quite some sloppyness in the linework of the cards, which I can't figure out if intentional or not.
Still in love with the deck in general, but dunno if I would like it more refined, or if I like the "imperfect" look... :ugeek:

I really like these as well, especially the orange! I would be there for a KS.

I see only come color similarities with the Monolith deck but the art itself I see no hint of Gio.

Thanks for the heads-up, Roope! How did you find out about the pre-order? I didn't see anything on his IG or FB pages...

In any case, I am so happy to be in on the V3.

It was actually Romeril that found it, he shared it with me and I just posted it.

Has anyone bought any extra decks? I do know that Jase really, really wants to own one of these, I sent him a PM right away when I learn about this pre-order but I am worried if they sell out before he notices it.

So if these end up selling out and somebody here has bought any extra decks, let member Jock1971 know about it, this deck is his current White Whale.

Matt (Romeril) just got in touch with the designer!

The printing number for this 3rd edition is going to be 100 decks, the designer hasn't uploaded all of them for sale yet. They will ship in mid October.

w00t! Ordered!

I see what you mean about the linework being a little sloppy. If I am looking at the same thing you are then the color fills are not totally complete and there is extreme variance in line thickness. I am wondering if it was original art that was scanned into Photoshop and then colored.

it doesn't bother me at all, and is definitely not a deal killer for me tho. I still love the deck.

Taken from the page. "This is a 3rd edition print run and the Final print run."

There's no possible way I can pay that shipping price, over 2x the actual shipping price which is already expensive. I'll have to take my chances adding it to the 'great white buffalo' list.

The $80-$85 price point in toto for a single deck like this, from an artist with no track record, despite the fact I really do like the other artwork is just ...

$50-$60 I'd start to be thinking about it. $40-$50 and I'd probably buy it.

But yeah charging near enough to $40 shipping on a $45 deck ....... poor form.

50,- € in total is way too much for a deck that is not a top tier printed deck.

As a designer currently running a campaign for a gold gilded, fully hand-drawn art deck, I felt my price tag of about $20 (its in yen) was fair - though some still commented - obviously the reputation of the designer, and the printer is a big issue for people judging value. I tried to listen to the community and have set the next stretch goal to upgrade printers to EPCC. Hopefully the community then consider the price tag well worth it and will come together to help us reach that stretch goal.

But as for reputation, how does one create more respect/admiration within the playing card industry (even if you have a large and diverse portfolio of work outside of it)? It is just engagement and time?
