I opened my Varius Teal deck today:
Thanks Timmargh, your Varius pics look so much better than those that suppliers are providing online.
I am assuming they look that good in hand in natural light.
Oh yeah, especially when you catch the reflection. Lovely cards.
Would you be able to post a pic of the backs catching the foil reflection :?:

Timmargh ignore the above cheeky request as I found the following youtube review

Thanks for tipping me into these. I got mine today and I am really impressed. You have to catch the reflection for the cold foil but it is amazing how the backs, courts and aces all look so good (better) in low light. I only found the pip cards looked any better under lamp light :D

One of my regular HCAs is fascinated with "the sheer variety and surprises" hidden in my collection. Today we opened Vivid Kingdom by Ten Hundred:

I'm the wrong person to ask as a) I rarely handle the cards myself and can only do so with one hand (FSH muscular dystrophy is a bitch!), and b) my 1-to-1 guy knows less about handling than I do, which is nothing.

I have one of my Redemption VI decks opened. It handles nicely. It is tons better than his early decks. I am not a cardist though, so others more skillful with cards might have a different opinion.

I recently won a F. R. Schick Circus Transformation deck and it arrived today. I don't think that this deck has ever been handled because it is perfect.

Great buy! Even though I already have that deck I was going to try and buy that one too but alas I am in the US.

I dug out my De Novo Limited Editions the other day simply because I don't think I've ever had a good look at the acrylic card.

And I got my Koinobori recently, too. It's cute, but, by mistake*, I was sent the hanafuda instead of the fusion deck.

(* my mistake; I ordered the wrong one.)

This is in the description as a "leather card." No idea what it's for, though, except maybe as a dealer token/card guard.

~

Decided to get a group shot of some of my Luke Wadey collection.

I know a few people aren't keen on Luke's decks, but I like lot of them, especially the Grid and a lot of the Mono series, and the man himself, like plenty of others in the industry, is a hugely friendly and generous guy.

I like one or two of the ARW decks, but have decided against collecting the entire set, and I do really like my bespoke Patreon deck that hsbc kindly let me purchase from him.

Image

Grid Series One, including my First Backer Edition. The tuck for the FBE is gloss on matte black, and really hard to photograph; here's the best I could do.

Luke gave out First Backer Editions for the first three Grid series, and a couple of the Mono series, but I'm not sure which exactly.

Image

The limited editions. (Sorry, hsbc!)

Image

And the full set.

~

Image

Mono – X, again, including my First Backer Edition.

Image

Mono Xero.

Image

The full set (I think).

A quick look at the Masterpieces deck. I haven't seen many pictures of it around – MTC has scanned it but the pictures don't show up.

I really like Masterpieces. That was a blast from the past. I haven't thought about that deck in the longest.

The Sakuragi Hanafuda deck that Gandalf linked to in his Hanafuda Railroad thread arrived yesterday. They're not wrapped, like the Shiki decks, but they're simply stuck to a thick card back; they're very nice.

They are! And they're very well made – a lot of attention to detail, and I didn't see any that weren't perfectly aligned.
