I think the youtube won’t embed because “shorts” aren’t supported, otherwise it looks like you managed it correctly.

Using WJPC or is that just for the prototype?

MPC for the prototypes. The Daya Standard in this video and the Fera Standard will be WJPC. The Special Editions will be Cartamundi

What I'm missing here is the black and white, uncolored version (essentially, a pencil sketch). But it's just me. This art style is popular on Kickstarter, so everything will be alright ;) Good luck with the project!

I initially thought you meant you thought the deck was in black and white in a sketch style. I did play around with the idea of a sketch version but it ended up feeling a bit too busy to add another deck - at least at this point. We will see how the campaign goes - cheers

I just got my acrylic case sample and I am very excited with how everything is coming together! You can sign up on the pre-launch page if you wish to be notified when this goes live on October 16th.

Here's the link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cu ... ying-cards

Pictured is the Collector's Set, which holds two decks, two weapon replicas, the collector's coin, and this unique, layered acrylic display. Let me know what you think!

No offense Bacon, but to me it looks cheap and gimmicky. Maybe it's the angle and the lighting, but the weapon replicas look as brittle as a Happy Meal toy, and the acrylic encasement appears as a low-quality Carat case knockoff. I will reserve any definitive judgment until the campaign is up and better images are displayed, but until then, I'm sticking to the decks.

Which I love so far. Ending on a high note.

Just chiming in that the case was designed by Carat Case Creations and not a knockoff. It’s a different style than what Sherman has done before. When you see how it’s accomplished you will probably change your mind. It’s pretty cool.

Maybe I dont really wanna know but, ....what else do we know about October.....

For the rest, how much of a market is there for custom displays? I keep seeing these "collectors boxes/sets etc" usually with an exclusive deck version (which Im not inferring is happening here) but considering how short Ive been collecting and how much real estate my bricks of decks already take...I really dont want want deck displays :).

Not saying it doesnt look cool just....man

i dont disagree here. perhaps the case is too thick or maybe it is that front double layer. the weapons do look a little thin and brittle. it could be the picture, but it is hard to tell that the weapon on the right is even in there. i think those that go for these types of displays will probably still love it.

it seems that the market for displays is pretty lively. i am generally not part of that market myself. i do have a few from kingstar and from the charmie dreams projects because they were at a price point that just made sense. you could get 2 decks or 2 decks, a coin, a nice display and some extras for about $10 more, iirc. usually, they add to much cost to the purchase. when some producers add special editions gated behind buying extra items like displays or wood boxes, some of which are very very expensive, i usually pass on the project as a whole because it is not a practice i want to support.

Im not quite at that level of skipping an entire campaign, I guess it depends how much I want the "gated" edition (or I guess any of their decks, I can definitely see it making a difference on something I was on the fence about period).

I did just drop an early discount on a campaign for a box with 4 decks, including a "collectors exclusive" but all 4 were the same cards, and 3 of them were the same face foiling and differed only in gilding color and presence. Sorry thats not worth $120 premium over the base foiled deck.

Good input, for sure. This is an amateur photo, so I am not doing the case justice. I will have some proper photos done in the coming weeks, but for now it's just a teaser. The case is made by Sherman and it is super high-quality. It's very heavy as it is six separate layers that are stacked and held together by magnets. I was going for unique but I can understand if it is perceived as gimmicky. As to the weapons, they are very solid - all metal and I am very excited with how they turned out. They are weapons used by two of the characters in the campaign.

One more thing to consider is that ALL deck versions are available outside of the collector's case. This particular tier will suit those who like to display their decks in interesting ways. I will also have an add-on case that is just the six panels with no cutouts so people can display any decks they have in their collections.

interesting, I did notice in the video extra space in the case but in the above picture that seems to have been solved by a divider?

Exactly - Sherman always includes some acrylic dividers to accommodate different deck sizes in his cases.

it appears there are 4 different decks, or tucks at least. please make sure in the campaign it is clear if the decks have different cards or not and make each deck available without having to buy extra stuff. all of the art looks great!

There are two decks: Daya & Fera. There will be two different versions of each with one version being two-way, mirrored courts and one being full-length courts in a collector's version with edge printing and different, fancier tuck. The decks will be available outside of the collector tier as well :ugdance:

I just saw The Card Guy's review/promo for War Of The Realms (well half of it anyway)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahN1VkYTSSI

They will have wide appeal but I cannot help but wonder whether it wasn't meant to be a graphic novel
But as suggested - maybe it is just pushing the boundaries
It seems to be trying to include everything and I am not sure it gels
Eg. Tuck flap has Chinese symbol for dragon
Card back has Ying and Yang
The club pips are trees
The Courts are every type of fantasy being

I am really big on card Backs - when you get 56 of them you have to like them IMO, and I don't think this one is for me (Bacon has nothing to worry about as I think I will be the odd one out)
The youtube is of the prototypes and one thing for sure - the AoS needs less text
KoD - my initials, no wonder I grew up a lover of playing cards

The "less text on the AoS" is definitely the one thing I would change if Jamie appointed me lead designer of the deck. I'm with most of the others here - pretty excited for this one. Love to see creators like Curio succeeding in a market that sometimes seems SO dominated by a handful of (admittedly fantastic) creators.

I have....so many questions about what this deck looks like but Im in for a special pair.

(yes I hear card guy did a video on something today Im on a cruise ship in the middle of the Adriatic Sea...I cant see YouTube today if that answered it).

$12K goal huh? thats some confidence. Betting on Cartamundi to deliver on time too.....

Also because its funny what motivates those who monitor this closely, of the first 40 backers, 25 went for the special pair, 10 went for the big box and 4 went for all 4 decks, and 1 bought a standard pair (and the last canceled already or just got lost in the metrics)

Showing yet again....people want the "cool deck" dont be a dink and make us buy the normal one(s) first.

In for the special edition pair. I normally like two way courts over one-way but the one-way courts in this are just way nicer I think. Also cartamundi over wjpc is a no brainer for me

I completely missed that the standard deck courts are two-way and special edition are one-way. Have now switched my pledge to a special edition pair.

Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh why condemn the Ace of Spades to such an unpleasant fate? I would 100% have ditched the double backer and made it an ad card instead. It might be nitpicky, but I know that if I hold this deck in my hands, that ace is going to bother me to no end. I really hate that yet again, there's a minor thing that keeps my collection Bacon-free.

That being said, I'm rooting for you. Next time, surely. All the best, wish you nothing but success on the campaign!
