$19/deck before shipping costs.- seems a little high to me.
Real shame as I liked the artwork on these, but the cost and the charge of shipping after the campaign (never been a fan of this approach) leaves me having to pass. Good luck!

I'm still in for a pair, but I'm with hsbc regarding the tiers being off. I don't think I've ever seen a campaign with no single deck tiers. I could be wrong, but I don't think the add-on fixes the issue since I'm not sure it's possible to add-on if you haven't pledged.

I am one of those people. I'll have to pass since I like the deck but not to the point where I need to pay $38 for two decks. I passed on ARK for the same reason and I'm not stopping now.

I’m also one of those people - and I’m sticking to my guns on it. I like this deck and I like the Ark deck - but passed on both for the same reason. It pains me a bit as I really liked this creators’ previous Artist deck.

Re: The Great Gatsby by Captan Card Co. / Andrei Captan [KS June 27]
95.5% of backers have pledged for the black and white deck tier, with so many tiers having no backers. The remaining two backers have either an uncut sheet tier or the "Gatsby Special" tier of $575 (likely a retailer).
Of all 45 backers, there have been $586 worth of add-ons pledged so far, accounting for 20% of the funds.
This is a campaign that needs restructuring before it launches again, and probably best if it had one deck pledge options; Or make one of the colors a stretch goal, although the performance of this campaign makes me doubt the stretch goal would be met. The black deck seems to fit the art deco aesthetic and offer contrast in a way that makes me lean more in that direction than the white deck.
I also find it odd to charge $30 for a signature.

I think it also bears mentioning that the 2-12-24 split is out of the ordinary for order size discounts.

He has added single deck rewards. Sadly, I think this one will not make the funding goal. Hopefully he relaunches with a better structure.

There's still 29 days left. Hopefully word of mouth that single decks can be purchased will help the funding goal. It would be a shame if these are not fully funded!

Just a thought, and it may go nowhere, but have you tried contacting local newspapers in the Long Island or general New England area, and/or news websites or newspapers about books? Since these are official and you the estate's permission, that may serve you well hereArtistcards wrote: ↑Thu Jun 29, 2023 9:59 pm Please spread the word! I need all the help I can get to fund these!

Re: The Great Gatsby by Captan Card Co. / Andrei Captan [KS June 27]
Well these funded in the last hours. The backer numbers for the various pledge options didn't change at all, so I'm guessing he made a deal with some of the secondary market sellers and they got added in as pledges without rewards. I'm glad they'll be getting made.

Yeah, was very surprised to wake up to an e-mail saying that the project was funded. Guardian Angel(s) save(s) the day, I guess. I'm happy

Re: The Great Gatsby by Captan Card Co. / Andrei Captan [KS June 27]
I backed out a few hours before the project funded due to the nature of the funding. I am not saying something nefarious is afoot, but if the project is fulfilled, I can just buy a deck for $25 and minimize my risk.
As of now, I think the only project I've backed that's a flop was "Cafeto" and I'd like to keep it that way.

Just a quick update, right now I’m working with the box manufacturer on getting the packaging made. I’ve been finalizing some design elements on the cards and box and proofs are looking good! I’ll post another update once the cards are printed and decks are assembled.

Re: The Great Gatsby by Captan Card Co. / Andrei Captan [KS June 27]
After receiving samples for metallic ink, I decided to print in CMYK since the metallic shimmer is unfortunately barely noticeable and the printing process is much more straight forward. So the cards will be printed digitally with the USPCC. The samples are excellent quality so that’s great!

It is somewhat amazing how these funded when you see so many options like uncut sheets and bricks attracting zero interest

Re: The Great Gatsby by Captan Card Co. / Andrei Captan [KS June 27]
Noticeable or not, ngl disappointed. ffs, it's the Great Gatsby; if you don't foil, at least metallic ink. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I have to imagine that CMYK is cheaper than metallic, in which case where is the extra cash going?

It's a little weird to me that 7 months after funding he's finally looking at samples.PiazzaDelivery wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2024 11:22 pm Noticeable or not, ngl disappointed. ffs, it's the Great Gatsby; if you don't foil, at least metallic ink. Re: The Great Gatsby by Captan Card Co. / Andrei Captan [KS June 27]
Looking back at the campaign page, I'm reminded that shipping is being charged through backerkit later. So $20 for the campaign now gets a deck without any foiling or metallic ink? With shipping still to be charged? I'm kinda regretting backing this one now.kevork wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2024 11:57 pmEspecially when this was a licensed deck.Adamthinks wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2024 11:56 pmIt's a little weird to me that 7 months after funding he's finally looking at samples.PiazzaDelivery wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2024 11:22 pm Noticeable or not, ngl disappointed. ffs, it's the Great Gatsby; if you don't foil, at least metallic ink. This thread reminds me why I don't do kickstarters. Lorenzo, Gio and Alex (@montenzi that is of course) are the only folks I trust over there.
