my initial thoughts are pretty simple, my imagination is more colorful.

and thats a lot of space to put the card value.

Aren't 'face' cards generally defined as Court cards?
Definitely too much space for the index and I really dislike the 10/01 reversal

Tough crowd :)

Index closer to the corner allows for it to be displayed when fanning the cards - a fairly important bit for many

Need to see more to say more…

I like that the art is a little larger, but otherwise it has the same issues, the character overflowing into the index just underscores how much of a questionable choice the index positioning is, also I completely agree that the reversed index font just looks weird here.

also its a stylistic choice that others have said they DO like but now that its been pointed out elsewhere I really don't care for the 4 corner index.

Interesting possibilities, but too limited a view for me to sink my teeth into - seen map backgrounds, and characters of that type, so where it goes will matter
