Bicycle Marsala & Bicycle Moscato - Walmart

Unread post by CBJ »

nECr0MaNCeD had posted these in the "Hey, look what I added to my collection!" thread back in July, but I just realized they didn't have their own thread.

Has anyone else had any luck finding these??

I was able to pick up two of each. They weren't actually visible at the time I went. Someone had left a and un-opened half-brick box laying on the top shelf below the hangers. When I opened the box I was surprised that it was 3 of each of these. I'm planning to go back to Walmart again soon to see what else they've got as well as continually checking Target for the red/blue retros (I got the brown/green).

After going to several WalMarts, yes, I finally located those two and the Forest & Minty Green pastel colored ones also.

It took going to at least 3 stores before I found them.

I'll check out 2 particular Walmarts by me during the week. These will be $5 or less so I'll be willing to take a gamble. I always want to see everything before I buy.

I only found one of each at one of all the Walmarts I checked, they were laying on the bottom of the shelf at a Walmart. I'm not too fond of these cards since I'm the first to show them. The only different is the card backs, both decks has exactly the same cards. The heart and diamond pips are a light red, pretty much the color of the red backs. (I don't know which is marsala or moscato, doesn't mention it on the tuck).

While moscato wine is most commonly white Marsala cooking wine is red. So I would assum that Moscato is the blue one by process of elimination.

EDIT: Yup- just found these at my local Walmart:

Found them in my local store in the party supply section, not with the rest of the cards in the game/toy section.

The Moscato look like a light shade of gray a little bit. Anyways I know I wouldn't sell two opened decks so I'll hold on to them.

I did well with finding the Retro decks at Target, and shared all I could, but I have completely struck out with these so far after looking through stores in several cities!

Color me jealous for everyone that has found all four colors!

Which deck is that with the ornate looking back in the top of the photo? Is that a Maverick?

I think it was a Maverick. It was surely nothing too special or I'd have bought it!

Well apparently the Blue version of this deck is called "Daybreak" and they're both available at: http://www.bicyclecards.com/product/bic ... ing-cards/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Yes, apparently the Walmart exclusively is only for 6-12 months then USPC will sell them.

I wonder now where the "moscato" name came from. Weird to hear it suddenly being called "Daybreak".

Since Moscato is usually white I always found it weird anyway lol
